I had tried everything that I could get my hands on and scrubbed my face 2-3 times a day and nothing would help. I finally broke down and called my Doctor and so glad I did. I have been taking this for a little over a month and have had great results with it. My face is completely clear and no more big red swollen knots under my skin that last for weeks. My complexion looks great and I've even sto...

I have been taking this medication for about a month now. It was fine for awhile but recently I've been getting really sick to my stomach. I sat on a chair this morning for half an hour wondering if I was going to throw up again. I did. That is the second time in 3 days. It recommends you drink it with plenty of water so maybe I just have to drink more water. And i guess I haven't seen much differ...

I've been taking this medication for exactly one month and one day now. I have been taking it twice a day morning and night. Meanwhile, I also put Retin-A Cream on before bed time. My face and bottom buttox has cleared from the really bad cystic acne although I still have little red bumps or small white heads appearing on my face. I don't know if I need to prolong the use of it. Every time I take the medicine, thirty minutes into it I get really hot. I have nausea and I either feel like i'm going to start sweating or pass out. It always leads to me vomiting though. It really bugs, but I don't want to stop taking this, as I think if I stop all my acne will go in reverse. Read More Read Less

After taking this drug for a few days I started to get sore throat. 1.5 weeks into it and I have to stop completely as it is difficult and painful to swallow, have a sore throat pretty bad, and have lost my voice.

I used to have really bad acne, but since I started taking this medication it has really helped clear it up. My only complaint is that it makes me extremely nauseous if I don't take it with food. Other than that, it has worked pretty well.

I was diagnosed with pneumonia and began this drug at 100 mg twice a day. After 9 days, I am still suffering from teeth-shattering chills and fever which alternate with horrible sweats, nausea and vomiting and extreme tiredness and weakness. I know pneumonia isn't cured overnight, however, the fever should have broken for good after a couple of days of treatment on the antibiotic. the pulmonologist has just put me on a steroid and my PCP (it was an urgent care MD who put me on this drug) is putting me on a different antibiotic tomorrow after this one has (ineffectively) run its course.Read More Read Less

I have a naturally oily face and I suffer from adult acne. In addition to the doxycycline, I apply the topical cream Avar-e. This combination has worked well for the last year or so. The most frequent side effects from the use of doxycycline are dry mouth, dry lips, and sometimes dry eyes if you are in a windy area or under a ceiling fan.

I was told not to eat an hour before nor an hour after taking the medication, which is what I have done for exactly one month. The change in my complexion is simply amazing. I did not have acne however, it was rosacea. I was told that I would only notice results after two weeks; I started to see a difference after one week. I am almost at the point that I do not need fondation at all. Considering I was wearing Mac's professional use, which is almost spackled on, it is almost miraculous. I am so happy. I have not had any side effects, save for being a little more regular bowel movement wise. I am tremendously happy with the results. I am just hoping that I will not have to take it forever. My doctor says that the rosacea MIGHT not return after taking the medication for six months, but he's not sure (this is a newly approved medication in Canada, so I was his first patient given the script. Here's to hoping, though if I have to continue, I certainly will. Read More Read Less

Take as directed. This antibiotic began working within 24 hrs. I suffered with hi fever, frontal headaches (especially behind the eyes), lack of energy, fatigue, with a developing rash that on day 7 began spreading down arms and legs, and at tick bite site, skin rash had spread, getting rough with raised skin, like hives. World of difference in 24 hrs, headaches subsided, fever diminished, and were cleared up within couple of days. Rash remnant at bite site finally dissipated on day 21, and feeling good about that. Still lack stamina after 3 wks, but steadily getting stronger and feeling great! Have full month to be on regimen. CAUTION, if one gets bit by a tick and you feel it is different, and unlike anything you have experienced, GET TO THE DR.! Do not waste a single precious moment to get on this antibiotic. On my 7th day without, I was crashing, going down fast, and hospital probably a day or 2 later had I not began the therapy. This disease becomes debilitating and more dangerous, the longer you procrastinate to get treatment. Be proactive, and you will thank God for it.Read More Read Less

Prescribed for an infection at the site of a tick bite. Dr. said that tick was not on long enough to transmit lyme disease, but I had a rash and intense itching at bite site. Rash was about 4-5" in a circle around bite. Made me nauseous but tried to make sure I took it with food, no calcium-containing food or vitamins for 2 hours before or after. Healed up the infection in 3 days, had a 10-day course to suffer through.

I was prescribed this medicine to take twice a day for 10 days. It worked quickly to clear up my infection. I didn't experience any of the reported side effects, but I wasn't hungry for an hour or so after taking it. No nausea or upset stomach luckily. Overall, it was a very easy antibiotic to take and it did the job

My doctor prescribed this for my moderate acne. I knew as a pharmacy tech that this would make me nauseous, but that is not my complaint. I have been taking it for a week and a half now and i now have a rash on the inside of my leg and on my breast. It has not helped at all with my acne. I will never use this again.

This medication made me so sick. Not just nausea. In fact it took me a while to realize it was the medication and not the flu when i didnt get better. I experienced the worst body pain in my whole entire life, I had a fever and i could hardly move. I stopped taking it, but I think its going to be a slow recovery.

Has made me sick to my stomach and definitely have to take it with food and a lot of water. I don't see that it's really even working for my acne and have been taking for about 2 weeks now. May ask for something different from my doctor.
