I have suffered from hyperhydrosis since the age of 10. Cold and clammy hands, feed and groin area. Hated it. I'm a athlete and it became embarrassing as I grew older. Avoiding contact, not being able to play instruments, hold hands with women, and much more.. Back then, there wasn't enough research on glycopyrrolate, so dermatologists did not recommend it. Currently I am a 26 years old male, so I ...

I have hyperhydrosis and was prescribed this rx for it. At first it gave me extreme dry-mouth and my eyes were also dry, but after a few weeks those effects subsided. Overall it works wonders, but it does increase the chance of yeast infections. I had 1 yeast infection in my life before this medication, and now If I dont take Culturelle and eat yogurt constantly i will get them on a regular basis, which for me is worse than sweating. My doc had me on Diflucan, rx for YI, for 3 months and as soon as I stopped it, the yeast infections came back. Just yesterday I asaked the pharmacist if I decrease to 2x day instead of 3x, would that decrease chances of YI, he said that it most likely would. So Im gonna give that a try. Read More Read Less

I am taking rubinol for hyperhydrosis. I have IBS aswell and it worked out to take one drug for both conditions. I have had no unusual side effects. Occasionally I will have a very dry mouth or nose, but I figure it is due to the drug drying everything out. I would strongly recommend trying it although it is somewhat expensive.

I take 2mg every 12 hours for vasovagal syncope (fainting). Apparently it increases my slow heart rate slightly and reduces the vagus nerve reaction to disturbing stimuli -- sight of blood, injury etc. I have taken it for more than 15 years effectively without any side effects that I am aware of. I avoided a possible pacemaker by taking it. My heart doctor prescribed it when my heart rate was found to drop as low as 35 b/m when sleeping.

For hyperhidrosis, I tried the ETS and had it reversed 2 weeks later because of compensatory sweating on my chest and back; 7 years later, I am still struggling with this. Oral glycopyrrolate has worked very well and I found that taking my pill at night, right before bed, helped work around the need to have an empty stomach -and- lessened side effects (i.e.: dry mouth). Recently heard that there were some health risks associated with this medication, but did my own research (I work in healthcare) and could not find anything; the doctor dismissed "a little bit of sweating," not wanting to write the prescription. Don't expect much knowledge from your general/family doctor; see a dermatologist.Read More Read Less

My MD prescribed this to treat chronic diarrhea and occasional severe cramping. It has honestly worked like magic on the diarrhea and has been a life changer in terms of being comfortable away from home. The side effects of occasional headaches and dry eye/mouth are manageable - and a small price for things to be "regular" as clockwork. The only issue that has been a concern has been the decreased sexual libido - which may or may not be a result of this drug. Keeping an eye on that.

I suffer from severe chronic IBS and diverticulosis. It is so extreme that the abdominal pain was nearly unbearable, and I would frequently break into a cold sweat and vomit repeatedly while trying to go to the bathroom. (Not a pretty sight!) My physician previously prescribed Hyoscyamine and Dicyclomine, but neither one was NEARLY as effective as the Glycopyrrolate. For me, this medication has been magical! I have been pain and nausea-free since I began taking it about 1 month ago. Prior to this I never went more than 2 or 3 days without misery. I always make sure to drink plenty of fluids. Thus far the only side-effect I've experienced is an occasional headache, and I'm reasonably certain this is an effect of the drug, since I've rarely had headaches throughout my life. I have an appointment to discuss this with my doctor soon, and I'll post further information if he says anything worth sharing.Read More Read Less

This was substituted for me for hyoscamine (sp?), which has been discontinued, apparently. At the standard dosage at twice a day, it doesn't quite do the job for the irritable bowel bloating and cramps I get, but it helps. At a slightly higher dosage, it does the job better, at which point I get a little dry mouth & dry throat, which is not a big deal. I also take an SSRI antidepressant, and this med does not interact negatively with it at all.

I have extreme sweating due to another medication. This does take care of that, but I feel extremely sick from it. I checked out the side effects and I have at least 5 of them... Also if this drug is prescibed for ibs I am confused. It gave me all the symptoms of it..

I use this for my hyperhidrosis and it works better than anything I have tried, even getting botox injected in my hands. I take it 2 times a day and would be lost without it. At first there was a little dryness in my mouth and eyes but after a few days that went away and has been great ever since.

I'm 37 y.o. and had a RF ablation for WPW 2 mos. ago. Didn't go well, and I now need a pacemaker for abnormal heart rhythms. However, my wife just had a baby, so I need to buy time (about a month) before getting the procedure, until she can lift the kids. Glycopyrrolate was prescribed for me to increase vagal tone. It does a good job of keeping my heart rate up when I lay down. Prior to RX, laying down decreased my vagal tone, and heart rate would drop to 50% (2nd degree heart block). This RX will allow me to function for a few weeks while I wait for my wife to recover.Read More Read Less
