I started this medication over 8 years ago for birth control however the positive side effects were AMAZING! My periods went from heavy and painful to almost non-existent, my peri-menopausal symptoms (mainly horrible hot flashes) disappeared completely, and I just felt so good! Now that I'm 50 and post menopausal my DR wants me to go off of it and switch to Activella (HRT). I start next week and I hope the transition isn't too bad. Everyone is different of course, but for me this medication was perfect.Read More Read Less

Don't let other reviews scare you because EVERYONE'S BODY IS DIFFERENT! I was on Ortho Tri Cyclen in my early 20s, got off that for about 4 years now I'm 30 and getting back on. I was prescribed Hailey Fe 1/20. I was worried about starting on a different pill but honestly for whatttttttt?! This birth control has cleared my acne, made my periods bearable with only a use of panty liners (no tampons or thick pads), no bloating, no weight gain. My only bad side effect was nausea in the middle of my sleep because I would take the pill right before bed, took about 3 months for my body to adjust. I was taking "Emetrol" to fight off the nausea which worked GREAT! (Amazon). I weigh 105lbs and have remained this weight since starting the pill. Ladies please don't be scared! While this worked for what it was meant for, it was 100% not work it. I have roughly 10-16 migraines every 5 weeks. At first I just thought I was getting regular headaches, but then they started to control my life. I didn't think it was my birth control, as I had been on other types for many years with no issues. I finally went to see a doctor and I was diagnosed with cluster headaches. Which, let me tell you, are the worst things I have ever experienced. They are only "manageable" and can only "go away" with a prescription. If you are wondering, cluster headaches are usually on one side of you head and is a stabbing excruciating pain behind your eye, with other side effects to go along with it. I was on a daily preventative of Topamax and a rescue medication Sumatriptan. I did this for a YEAR and I also had an MRI. So now that I an a few thousand dollars in the hole and nothing is working and my MRI is fine, I start thinking about my history. It lined up that these started with the birth control. I stopped it December 11, 2022 and I have only had 4 of these headaches since then, where as I normally would have had about 10-15 by now. If anyone is experiencing this on this medication.... RUN don't WALK to get something else. I would never want anyone to suffer this way. I am hoping once my system clears out from the birth control that my life goes back to normal and I never get these again.Read More Read Less
