I was prescribed Damane (Flurazepam) over 40 years ago. I could take it as needed with the only side effect being next day fatigue. I've tried different benzos and the Z class medication but always came back to Flurazepam. In late 2022, Flurazepam was no longer available. I took Xanax for six months which was a nightmare. Switched to Ativan for the remainder of 2023. Not as bad, but was dependent on both. Had to take it every night. I filled a prescription for Flurazepam in January 2024 and life is much better. For me this is as close to a perfect sleep medication as there is. Really hoping the supply is never disrupted again.Read More Read Less

I've had insomnia since my early teens. I was prescribed Dalmane (Flurazepam) more than 40 years ago, and it was nothing short of a miracle. Found out with no warning in 2022 that Flurazepam was no longer available. I've tried everything OTC or prescription and nothing else works. Spent a year on Ativan, and it's been a nightmare. Finally got Flurazepam again early in 2024. For a chronic insomniac like me with no anxiety or other issues, this is the perfect medication.

I took flurazapam for 8 years, 30mg each night for insomnia. When it was abruptly discontinued in October 2022, I had to go off it cold turkey! As a result I developed anxiety, high blood pressure, depression, ringing in my ears, I felt terrible and I really didn’t think I would make it. I was taken by ambulance to the hospital with stroke level blood pressure. It took many attempts of different blood pressure med, anxiety med, pills to sleep before I could even leave my house. It is now over a year and all is under control except the ringing in my ears. I would not recommend anyone to take flurazapam. It worked wonderful for me. But I will never take the chance that it could be abruptly discontinued again. Withdrawal almost killed me. Read More Read Less

Life-long insomnia. I was prescribed Flurazepam 40 years ago, and it changed my life! I can take it as needed, and sleep for days in between dosages. Dismayed when I couldn't refill my prescription in 2022. Living a nightmare. NOTHING works like Flurazepam. Benzos, Z class drugs, nothing. I've tried them all. Currently taking Ativan every night. Bad sleep is better than none, but the next day is a nightmare. If there is a class action suit for negligence by Mylan for pulling Flurazepam with no contingency plan, I'll sign up today! Absolutely heartless big Pharma screw the consumer move.Read More Read Less

I had been taking flurazepam for 8 years for chronic insomnia. I had no side effects and slept well on it. It was good for anxiety and I felt wonderful during the day. I was devastated when it was discontinued. I had to go off cold Turkey. The last 6 months my life has been a living hell. I ended up in the hospital with blood pressure 200/190, stroke level. My anxiety hit the roof. I’m now on blood pressure Med and trying to get through the first bad weeks of an antidepressant. I get a panic attack every day and take small dose of Ativan to get me through. Temazepam for sleep is ok so I can get about 5 hours sleep each night. If I can get this antidepressant to work I may never take Flurazepam again. I’m all for a class action lawsuit. These drug companies need to take responsibility for this shortage and so many people suffering!!!Read More Read Less

This was the first and best thing I ever took for sleep. For some reason I don't know it was discontinued. It's the best there is.

This medication definitely worked quickly and helped me sleep well during the night. However, I found that mid-day I needed a mid-day nap, often for long periods of time. My doctor suggested only using the drug "as needed" but now has changed the medication completely.
