  1. Even though I take medicine, I’m still in pain. Can I safely increase my dose or try a different medicine?
  2. What should I do to get ready for surgery? Should I quit smoking? Lose weight?
  3. Would physical therapy, acupuncture, or other treatments help?
  4. What are the complications of joint replacement?  How often do they happen?
  5. What should I expect following joint replacement surgery? 
  6. How long is the recovery time after a joint replacement?
  7. Will I need physical therapy after surgery? If so, would that be at home or the hospital?
  8. How long will the replacement joint typically last? What can I do to make it last as long as possible?
