What do you need to know about scorpionfish, lionfish, and stonefish poisoning?
ANSWER
They’re all poisonous fish that live in tropical and temperate oceans. They’re not aggressive, so you can come in contact with them accidentally and get poisoned. Lionfish causes mild poisoning. Scorpionfish causes moderate-to-severe poisoning. Poisoning from stonefish, which is motionless, can be severe and even deadly.
