This exercise can strengthen your ankles:

Make it more of a challenge by doing something while standing on one foot -- like brushing your hair or talking on the phone.

  1. Stand on one leg as long as you can (up to 30 seconds).
  2. Switch to the other leg and do the same thing.
  3. Repeat three to five times on each leg.
