Who gets genital herpes?

ANSWER

About one-fifth of all people ages 12 and up in the U.S. are infected with the HSV-2 virus that causes genital herpes, but as many as 90% don't know it. More women than men are infected -- 1 in 4 women compared with 1 in 5 men. The more sex partners your have, the more likely you are to get it.
