The United States is home to 52 million people aged 65 and older. That number is expected to grow to nearly 100 million by 2060. To more fully understand what people know and how they feel about age-friendly health systems, WebMD and The John A. Hartford Foundation performed a comprehensive consumer survey on the topic. We examined attitudes about and experiences with the essential elements that systems need to address for older adults. The goal is to raise awareness about the need for age-friendly health systems and promote discussions to address barriers to age-friendly care. We hope this information will drive meaningful change in knowledge and attitudes related to age-friendly health care and help build a framework to consistently deliver high-quality, age-friendly care.
