ANSWER

  • Keep work separate. Do as much of your caregiving duties during personal hours as possible.
  • Have a backup plan. Enlist a co-worker or two who can step into your role if needed.
  • Talk to your boss. Explain your caregiving responsibilities, and assure that you’ll make every effort to put 100% at work.
  • Ask if flexible or remote work hours is an option. Or propose a plan that meets both your and your company’s needs as much as possible.
