C-Reactive Protein (CRP Test) Directory
A C-reactive protein (CRP test) is a blood test used to help diagnose infection, cancer, immune system disorders such as lupus and arthritis, and much more. The test is not specific enough to diagnose a disease but can help assess an ongoing inflammatory process. In otherwise healthy people a highly sensitive C-reactive protein can be used to help screen for heart disease.
