Heather Free, PharmD

Heather Free, PharmD, is an APhA media spokesperson who has been media trained and is regularly called upon for media interviews. She has been quoted in national and local print publications and local news stations, including the Rodale book List Lovers Get Healthy Guide and on News Channel 8 in Washington, D.C. 

Free is a graduate of The Ohio State University and completed a PGY-1 Residency in Primary Practice with Emphasis in Community Pharmacy Settings with the University of Maryland. She is active within the American Pharmacist Association, participating with the New Practitioner Program.

Free also volunteers for the American Pharmacist Foundation. Free is certified as a consultant pharmacist in Maryland and serves as an adjunctive instructor and preceptor for the University of Maryland.  She has extensive background in pharmacy operations in the retail sector with CVS/Pharmacy and Target Pharmacy. Free is also certificate trained in immunizations and diabetes. 

Free is the Pharmacist-in-Charge for BioScrip Pharmacy, in Washington, D.C.  Her group is responsible for assisting patients with their pharmaceutical needs, including prescription processing and dispensing, patient education and drug monitoring. Her role extends from being a pharmacist to managing the business.
