Kate Jackson

Kate Jackson is a certified dog trainer through Animal Behavior College. She is also an American Kennel Club evaluator for Canine Good Citizens (CGC) and the S.T.A.R. Puppy Program. Both programs recognize dogs who have good manners at home and in the community. Both of Jackson’s dogs have been certified as CGC dogs. 

Jackson is a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers, International Association of Canine Professionals, International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants, and American Kennel Club. She also volunteers with various training and rescue organizations, including Adopt-a-Golden of Atlanta, Georgia German Shepherd Rescue, Lab Friends of the South, Atlanta Dog Squad, Paws Atlanta, and Animal Action Rescue

In 2008, Jackson participated in an internship with Sue Sternberg on a working sled-dog kennel. The internship was an intensive study on behavior, body language, aggression recognition, and handling skills. Jackson was invited back in 2009 to participate in the internship again.

In 2008 and 2009, Atlanta Magazine named Jackson’s Jabula Dog Academy “Best Dog Training in Atlanta.” Jackson has also been featured in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, answering pet owners’ questions in the column, “Ask the Pet Expert.”
