How does sarcoidosis affect your body?

ANSWER

Often the disease appears briefly then disappears without you even knowing you have it. A few people have some permanent lung damage. But sometimes sarcoidosis can be a chronic condition. It can severely damage the affected organ. It's rare, but it can be fatal. Death usually results from complications with the lungs, heart, or brain.
