What are benign lung tumors?

ANSWER

A benign lung tumor is an abnormal growth of tissue that serves no purpose and is not cancer. Benign lung tumors may grow from many different structures in the lung. Finding out whether a nodule is benign or not is very important, because if it is cancer, the sooner you start treatment, the better.
