What is myasthenia gravis?

ANSWER

It’s a problem with your immune system that keeps your muscles from talking to each other like they should. That weakens your muscles. Often, the first sign is a drooping eyelid or double vision. You also may have a hard time speaking, swallowing, or smiling, and your arms and legs may feel weak.

The condition can go away on its own. But most people need medication, and sometimes surgery to remove their thymus gland.
