Will garlic help prevent coronavirus?

ANSWER

Garlic is a popular remedy for helping to boost the immune system. It has been shown to have germ-fighting properties but the research is very preliminary. We don’t have evidence that garlic helps fight infections in humans. One study showed that garlic had some inhibitory effects on a coronavirus but not this coronavirus (COVID-19), which is new. But this study involved using a chicken embryo and there’s no real evidence this has any effect on a real-life COVID-19 infection.
