What complications can a man's yeast infection cause?

ANSWER

If your immune system is weak, there’s a chance the yeast can spread into your bloodstream. This serious condition is called invasive candidiasis. You're at risk if you:

A high fever, chills, upset stomach, and headache are all signs that your yeast infection may have spread. Call your doctor right away.

  • Have HIV
  • Have diabetes
  • Are getting chemotherapy or radiation
  • Need dialysis
  • Are taking immunosuppressants, drugs that slow your immune system
  • Have a central venous catheter, a tube in your chest to give you medicine
