What is mental imagery relaxation?

ANSWER

This is a type of relaxation technique that may help you during menopause or at other times in your life. Mental imagery relaxation, also called guided imagery, coaches you in creating calm, peaceful images in your mind. Counter negative thoughts and emotions by repeating positive affirmations, such as:

  • Let go of things I cannot control.
  • I am healthy, vital, and strong.
  • There is nothing in the world I cannot handle.
  • Every day in every way I am getting stronger.
