Can stress and emotional eating lead to binge eating disorder (BED)?

ANSWER

Stress or emotional eating is common. Nearly 1 in 3 Americans say they eat when they’re stressed. But binge eating isn’t a once-in-a-while splurge. You overeat at least once a week for months and feel distressed about it. Stress or anxiety may not be triggers for people with being eating disorder.
