Can conduct disorder be prevented?

ANSWER

It may not be possible to prevent conduct disorder, but recognizing and acting on symptoms when they appear can lessen the effects on the child and family and prevent many of the related problems. A nurturing, supportive, and consistent home environment with a balance of love and discipline may help reduce symptoms and prevent episodes of disturbing behavior.
