Do You Use Heat or Cold to Manage Your Migraine?

Doctors often recommend temperature therapy in addition to other treatments to help relieve migraines. Ice packs applied to your head and neck may help numb the pain. Heating pads or hot packs, on the other hand, may help relax your tense muscles to make you feel better. Hot showers or baths can also help you get relief from migraines by helping you relax. Some people with tension type headaches may find heat therapy most effective, while migraines triggered by other factors may respond better to cold therapy.
