What will my dentist recommend if my child loses a baby tooth too soon?

ANSWER

If your child loses a tooth prematurely, your dentist may recommend a space maintainer. That's a plastic or metal device that holds open the space left by the missing tooth. Your dentist will remove it once the permanent teeth begins to come in.
