How do I prevent osteoporosis in children?

ANSWER

Calcium and vitamin D are the most important nutrients for strong bones. Low levels in children can make them more likely to get osteoporosis later in life. So keep track of how much calcium your children get from food and ensure they get enough of vitamin D. If you are worried they aren't getting enough, talk to your doctor. Don’t give you child supplements unless your doctor recommends it.
