How can keeping limber and fit help with knee pain?

ANSWER

Many knee problems are caused by tight or imbalanced musculature. So if you stretch and strengthen your muscles, it may help prevent knee pain. Stretching keeps your knee from being too tight and helps prevent both patellofemoral syndrome and iliotibial (IT) band syndrome. Strengthening exercises, particularly of your quadriceps, can help prevent knee injury and can also curb arthritis and its complications.
