When times get tough, it helps to have some go-to healthy ways to handle stress. You and your kids can try deep breathing, going for a walk, or listening to music.

If you're having trouble controlling your emotional eating, don't be afraid to seek the help of a mental health professional. Although counseling or psychotherapy might not be comfortable for elementary school children, it can help you or older kids figure out what's behind emotional eating and offer help.
