What is saw palmetto used for?

ANSWER

Some people try saw palmetto to treat urinary symptoms associated with an enlarged prostate gland (also called benign prostatic hyperplasia, or BPH). But most large studies show no improvement from taking saw palmetto for prostate disease.

If you're thinking about trying it, ask your doctor if it works and is safe for you.
