Ruth Oratz, MD

Ruth Oratz, MD, is director of clinical research resources for the Kaplan Cancer Center and is associate professor of Clinical Medicine at the New York University School of Medicine. She graduated from Radcliffe College, Harvard University, and the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and did her postgraduate training at New York University School of Medicine.

Oratz is board certified in internal medicine and medical oncology, focusing her clinical practice and research in the areas of breast cancer and malignant melanoma. She is studying the prevention of breast cancer in high-risk women and recently contributed to a new textbook on breast cancer. She frequently lectures to the public through the Comprehensive Breast Cancer Education series and to physicians in the New York area.

Oratz serves on the Institutional Board of Research Associates and is chairperson of the Tisch Hospital Ethics Committee.
