Sharon Horesh Bergquist, MD

Sharon Horesh Bergquist, MD, is a board-certified internal medicine primary care physician at The Emory Clinic and an assistant professor at the Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta.  In her practice, she focuses on the importance of prevention, healthy lifestyle habits, and comprehensive chronic disease management in helping people achieve optimal health. She is also passionate about educating patients and medical students on how each person can maximize quality of life at every age. 

As an advocate of a "whole person" approach to care, Bergquist believes in innovating how we deliver primary care so that patients receive the best quality and outcome.  Bergquist  has been recognized as one of America’s Top Physicians by the Consumer  Research Council of America in 2004-2007 and 2009, has received the Patient Choice  Award, awarded to less than 6% of the nation’s physicians, in 2008-2010, and has been named in Who’s Who in Medicine Higher Education in 2010.  She is on the advisory board of Phoenix Healthcare Consulting Group and has served as the Chairman of the department of medicine and a member of the Board of Trustees at Northlake Medical Center.

Bergquist earned her undergraduate degree in molecular biophysics and biochemistry from Yale University and her medical degree from Harvard Medical School.  She completed her internal medicine residency at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston.

Bergquist is a member of the American College of Physicians, where she serves on Georgia’s Health and Public Policy committee, and is a member of the Medical Association of Georgia.
