I came across L theadine and decided to give it a try since I’m in menopause and I wake up constantly during the night or sometimes find it hard to fall asleep and stay asleep. I have been taking Xanax on and off throughout my life here and there but really don’t want to anymore. So I tried this about an hour before bed one time 200 mg and it made me feel very relaxed not drowsy and then I went into bed and fell asleep for the whole night. Again last night I did the same thing and again very relaxing slept through the night and wake up feeling pretty alert so far so good I pray to God, But I take this when I really need it and it works consistently. I also have anxiety issues all of my life and this definitely did start to relax me probably within 20 minutes. As a man almost 73, I have suffered from depression and anxiety most of my adult life. I've been taking L-Theanine (about 300 mg daily) for the past three months. I feel a little better,and this is much better than prescription meds.

I took it to sleep which I heard it was good for. It did make me sleepy however it caused my heart rate to increase too much almost like a lot of caffeine. I will not be using it again

I take 25 mg sublingual Lawson jurors theanine as needed I probably take to a day and they really help me work through my anxiety In the day it ask fast and it makes me feel much more functional

i am a 64yo adhd adult with anxiety & insomnia. i am very self-aware of my conditions & have tried several natural treatments over the years to calm my mind. i finally came across the l-theanine but since i have a hard time with pills, i tried the liquid brand (MAX ABSORPTION Liquid L-Theanine). i struggle with lack of focus, racing thoughts & sleeplessness because of all that. the worst symptoms are thinking too much of what i have to do the next day, just before i'm ready to fall asleep. then again first thing in the morning when i think about all i have to do for the day. constant negative cycle. so i started putting 100mg in each of my first 2 cups of half-caf coffee in the morning. then in another cup later morning. then i take a nap & have 2 more cups of half-caf the same way. i can't even describe what this does for me. somehow, it quiets the constant repetitive thoughts, which then helps me to focus on the other things i'm actually doing. & here's the kicker. i put 200mg in some water at night & end up sleeping 5 1/2 hrs at a time, which is a godsend to me. whatever this does to the brain, it allows me to fall asleep without the racing thoughts. it's like my mind isn't thinking about anything; that's the only way i can describe it. coincidentally, i came across this site today because i am looking to maybe try l-theanine powder instead of the drops, because i use so much of it every day. while the drops are more convenient, it does get a bit pricey over time. I have severe social anxiety and moderate OCD (Pure-O, specifically) and have tried so many supplements to no avail (5-HTP, St. John’s Wort, NAC, Glycine, multivitamins, etc). Finally, l’theanine is something that works. I do take it with 5-HTP because I find the combination works better than either one alone. The 5-HTP helps keep my mood up because L’theanine does seem to act as a slight depressant on me, but the l’theanine reduces the anxiety. I take a product that is 400mg each capsule and the bottle says that up to 2 capsules a day when required. But there are consequences, it has lowered my immune system and I keep getting infections... Didn't know what was causing it to start with but after being hospitalized for a bad prostate infection I realized.

I was on Xanax and stopped using because I don’t like being dependent on pills. This has worked well. I take 100mg daily and an excellent xtra 100mg when having a bad day. It does not make me want to sleep like Xanax did. I have hormone issues that cause my anxiety attacks. I can skip a dose or two without withdrawals.

I was on Xanax but my doctor has stopped treatment. I found this online and started taking it. It helps a ton and before it I was not getting a good nights sleep with my mind wondering for hours. Now I take this an hour or two before bed and it helps keep my thoughts at bay and helps me relax to get to sleep.

Taking Metagenics Somnolin - one of the ingredients is Theanine. Saw improvement of insomnia and anxiety almost immediately. Have been taking it for over a year. before bedtime 1/2 hr.

My OBGYN told me to get this to help me focus becuase I always seem to be like a speeding train. I cannot tell you what a difference it has made in my life. My assistant always needs to try to keep me focused when we work together. She noticed a huge difference. I love my doctor who is trained in Holistic medicine. I am so glad O found her!

I was taking it at bedtime because it seemed to help me get sleepy, but I started waking a lot in the middle of the night. After several weeks, I stopped taking it and have been sleeping through the night again.

My OB recommended this product to me roughly 2 years ago due to stress and anxiety. I mainly take 1-2 capsules (100-200mg) at night when I feel my stress/anxiety levels are high. This product has been a life saver for me.
