There seems to be a lack of distinction in this review between lithium OROTATE (available w/o a prescription), and Lithium CARBONATE (prescription only). I was diagnosed with Bipolar I when I was 16, (upon having my 1st manic episode requiring in-patient hosp.) I took lithium carbonate for more than 30 years. I then (slowly) transitioned to lithium orotate, due to concerns of side effects with th...

I was misdiagnosed with Bipolar Disorder when I was 6 years old and this vile substance was forced down my throat for 11 years. The end results during my formative years, and current health/future health were disastrous. Iv seen it erode away at the minds of family members who took it as well, and who sadly refuse to do without.

I have been on lithium carbonate since 2007 for bipolar disorder and it has been extremely helpful and easy to take. I have noticed a difference from when I was untreated and it is amazing!

This "dietary supplement" is extremely dangerous. I took this because I thought it was "safe" and "all-natural". I found out information about it through the internet thinking I could trust people. Boy was I wrong. There is misleading information everywhere. Most people are just trying to make a buck by selling this stuff when it's actually extremely dangerous and toxic (especially to the nervous system). Stay away please! Dietary supplements are unfortunately very unregulated by the FDA or for any levels of safety. Companies can put whatever ingredients they want into products. Stay away from products bought on the internet, products that are claimed to be miracles, and products that have any form of heavy metal in them. (Lithium IS a heavy metal.) Go to your doctor. Tell him/her your problem, or find a new better doctor, one that is trustworthy. DO NOT TAKE THIS PRODUCT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. THIS PRODUCT=UNREGULATED, DANGEROUS. Thank you. I sincerely hope that people listen. I personally was poisoned by a product like this, and I don't want others to suffer. Please heed my warning.Read More Read Less

I took lithium orotate because I was told that it was "safe" and "all natural". This "dietary supplement" (which is completely unregulated) poisoned me and destroyed my life. The "supplement" attacked my central nervous system and poisoned my body. These supplements are sold by greedy people and witch doctors who are tricking innocent people and taking advantage of the lack of regulation on "dietary supplements", in order to make money. Stay away from these tainted " dietary supplements". Dietary supplements in America have been found to have prescription drugs, heavy metals, and illegal substances. These unregulated "supplements" are extremely unsafe and unregulated. The companies selling these products operate in order to trick consumers or to push their snake oil onto innocent people. Often times they put up various websites touting their products or put up phony positive reviews of their "dietary supplements" to lure in consumers. They give off the impression that the "supplements" that they are selling are safer and a better alternative to mainstream medicine. In some cases this may be true, but too often this unregulated medicine is much more dangerous. These companies, under current law, are not required to prove that their products are safe before selling them to consumers. The FDA doesn't even have the authority to remove products from the shelves unless they have huge amount of deaths or injuries reported. They do not currently have the authority to act before an incident strikes. Be wary, and completely avoid these, horrible, unsafe "dietary supplements" (especially the ones containing lithium). Please understand. This is a legitimate issue and I want to help protect other innocent people. We need more regulation, information, accountability, and responsibility. Thank you so much! I sincerely hope that my voice is heard.Read More Read Less
