It's so sad MDs don't know a thing about this product. Reliance on antibiotics is all that's prescribed. Cranberry juice is too acidic and counter productive, even in concentrate form without sugar. This product, with just 2 doses x's 2 days showed its effectiveness in the void (clearer urine). A third day at 2 x's a day, for a total of 3 days, 2 x's a day should suffice to go onto preventive main...

Everyone should be aware that D-mannose is a sugar. Every bacteria in your gut will want to get its hands on it and chow down, potentially causing overgrowth and massive gas production. Even though it can be effective for eliminating E. Coli, also be aware that other bacteria can give UTIs that this will have no effect on. Antibiotics can sometimes be necessary. A kidney infection can kill you...

I had severe UTIs over 30 years ago (they stopped when I quit taking birth control pills) and just got my first one since being menopausal (hate that word!). Asked the attendant at a local health food store for a recommendation b/c cranberry tablets weren't being effective enough (was still passing blood). He recommended U.T. Vibrance (Vibrant Health); I took my first dose at 10am, and by 1130am I can urinate PAIN-FREE AND BLOOD-FREE!!! I am sold on D-Mannose for life!!! Not only is it SOOOO much healthier, with no side effects, but it actually costs less than a doctor co-pay and meds. I'm a believer!!!Read More Read Less

I have had UTI's for most of my 56 years. I started Mannose so that I could discontinue constant antbiotics. I have been free from UTI for 6 months on the powder. I do sometimes have infections other that e coli so may still have occasional UTI after this but it is so worth it to be free from the antibiotics and yeast infections. I wish that doctors would have known about this and told me about it years ago. I plan to stay on the teaspoon of powder always - 2 grams I believe is the dose I take. Whenever I feel what may be the beginning of UTI with its familiar tingling and full feeling, I increase the dose to 2 teaspoons. I don't see my brand listed but it is 100% Mannose Powder by NOW Laboratories.Read More Read Less

I had continual bladder infections and antibiotics only reduced symptoms but did not cure the infections. I used d-mannose for 8 days, starting with 5 doses daily and slowly reducing till I was taking one a day. All symptoms were gone and have never returned after 2 years.

d-Mannose stopped my 6 yo's UTI. I used 1/4 tsp powder every three hours with lots of water between doses. Two years later, it stopped my husband's UTI. I used 1/2 tsp every three hours. Symptoms disappeared within 24 hours. Continued treatment for seven days. Lab confirmed infections and cure.

I am not into herbal medicines or online reviews, but I'm so happy with this treatment, I made an exception on both counts. I've suffered with chronic UTIs since I was a teenager. At one point they were so bad, I underwent a surgical procedure to try and correct the problem. To make matter worse, over the years I've developed allergies or resistance to most of the antibiotics used to treat the infections (Cipro, Sulfa drugs, etc.). I can now only take Macrobid or get IV antibotics, but I'm worried that they'll stop working as well. Cranberry bills have never been that helpful, but this stuff is amazing. Been suffering with a UTI for more than a week, which antibiotics would not knock out. After two days of D-Mannose, its completely gone. Never experienced anything like it. It actually works better and more quickly than antibiotics. I agree with all the other commenters--why do doctors/pharmacists not tell you about this stuff???Read More Read Less

Hi used to get chronic badder infections - had to use antibiotics daily. After I started to use D Manatose Plus I am free of bladder infections and I do not drink any antibiotics any more. Have not been to the docter in 6 months. I use D Manatose now only about twice a week - sometimes more.

I have frequent Uti's even though I take great care in proper hygiene. I have even been using cranberry tablets as a preventative measure for several years now and this time they just didn't seem to be helping. Being in a foreign country for this occurance I didn't want an outrageous doctor bill for antibiotics that may or may not work so I researched alternative methods for relief and discovered D-mannose. After reading all the great reviews I decided to try it. When I took my first dose (which was at night before bed) I was in so much pain and was running to the bathroom every 15 mins to dribble. Within an hour of taking the first dose my urge to pee lessened considerably and by morning the pain was almost gone. I have never had antibiotics make feel this much better so fast. I definitely plan on continuing a maintenance ritual with D-Mannose.Read More Read Less

i've suffered w/ constent uti's (one right after another)for yrs. i've been on so many antibiotic's that i'm now either allergic to them or they don't work for me anymore. i have to go to the hospital for I.V antibiotic's. the last time i was hospitalized was 4 months ago. since then i decided to do some reserch and what i've found out is that 100% d-mannose powder has kept my uti's in check since then. i did feel like i had a uti and i took 1tsp. every 2-3 hrs.for the 1st.day or so, then maintain w/1 tsp. every night at bedtime. have not had one since.i have never had any side effects.i'm so happy to be off all the antibiotic's, body feels so much better, before i was tired all the time from all the antibotic's.why don't drs. tell you about this or don't they know about it? if they don't they should, i'm surley going to tell my dr. about it on my next visit,he's probably wondering where i am, because he hasn't heard from me for 4 months now. it's the best thing i've ever had for my uti's. i have a couple of friends who are n.p. and they 're amaized at how good it has worked for me, i tell everyone about it, but most people don't know what it is and they are very affraid to try it.it 's all natural and no side effects that i know of. i googled what is d-mannose and it explains everything you could ever want to know about it. so good luck i just know your going to be as happy as i am w/d-mannose. the brand i bought at the health store was NOW 100% d-mannose powder it cost 33.00 then when i needed to order agian i ordered it from amazon ,i got 2 of the same size containers for 26.60 so by it from amazon it's cheaper.Read More Read Less

For the past two years, I have been getting UTI's pretty regularly. Not only is it very painful and annoying, it's also one of the those things where I wished my doctor could call in the prescription and save me the visit. Even after being given an antibiotic, once it was finished, I found that I had to go back to get another refill. I know that constantly taking antibiotics is not good to do. And it seemed like I was starting to build a tolerance for them. This past week, I started feeling that familiar feeling and decided to head to the health food store. I was told to try U.T. Vibrance w/ D-Mannose and was desperate not to go back to the doctor for another prescription, so I bought it and took the first dose in the car. Within the hour, my symptoms had lessened. Today is my second full day on it and I feel so much better. I can't believe I never knew this existed, but am so glad I found it. I would recommend it to anyone who suffers UTI's and wants a natural remedy that truly works.Read More Read Less

I have had recurring UTI issues for a number of years and annoying issues with dribbling. I was told it was just a part of aging, nothing to be done, etc.- but usually was cured by cranberry capsules. Eventually I found I was taking cranberry everyday. About two-three weeks ago, I had a UTI that had gotten very bad. I went through two rounds of antibiotics and it didn't help, maybe made it worse. I was at the point where I was in pain, couldn't go out, had to stay near a bathroom at all times, and primarily was just laying on a couch moaning. I researched the internet and came up with Uva-Ursi leaf as a possible remedy and went off to Whole Foods to find it. A clerk helped me find it. They had it in capsule form with echinacea and other ingredients [by Gaia], and she also pointed out the D-Mannose [by Solaray with CranActin (cranberry extract)]; she didn't know how it worked but had heard good things. I was in pain, could hardly think straight, and desperate, so I bought them both. I took the first dose in the car. In 2 hours I was out of pain; in 4 hours I was feeling like I could go out -- but I didn't. By the next day I felt such relief, I realized I had been suffering more than I knew for a long time. I am now on the 4th day -- no pain, no peeing, no dribbling, even. I've been taking both items 4x a day. I think I am ready to cut down on the dosage. I don't know which worked, if it was one or the other or both. But it worked. The Uva-Ursi is only to be used for a max of 2 weeks, so is not a maintenance product. The D-Mannose indicates it is to be taken once daily. I have had no side effects or any negative issues. I am very happy to have found this and hope everyone who suffers gets the relief that I did.Read More Read Less

Former 'herbal skeptic' now an advocate. I've suffered from post-intercourse UTIs for 30 years, tho I've managed to keep them down to about two or three a year by peeing promptly after sex. (No romantic cuddling for me!) I recently experienced my first antibiotic-resistant UTI (7 days of Bactrim plus 5 more days of Cipro). Infection returned with avengence a week later. Tried D-mannose and I'm now over-the-moon happy. Relief from symptoms (burning, strong urge to bear down, frequent urination) came within a couple of hours, but the cure took longer than some reviewers and articles have indicated (little more than a week). Here's the dosage I followed: Days 1-4, half teaspoon of powder dissolved in water every two hours (including two doses during the night!). Day 4-6, reduced d-mannose to every 4 hrs and skipped the 'night feedings'. Day 7-9, took d-mannose twice a day. Also drank lots of water and continued taking a daily cranberry tablet throughout. Although it hadn't prevented the UTI in the first place, I figured it couldn't hurt. By golly, the d-mannose certainly did work! I feel liberated. I can take d-mannose anywhere I go and I'm no longer dependent on doctors for getting a "fix" of antibiotics after I get intimate with my husband. However, you need to be certain it's a UTI and it's caused by E-coli. Otherwise, seek medical attention. You don't want this moving to your kidneys! Read More Read Less
