I came down with a really bad stomach bug. I had intense cramping and spasms, nausea, diarrhea and a really bad headache. I picked some pure lemon grass (picked it from my garden) and allowed it to wither a bit overnight. In the morning I made some tea from a few stalks and drank it. Within an hour the cramping, nausea and spasms subsided. The headache stayed but was more tolerable after feeling much better. I would definitely recommend if you are having a stomach bug. It works!

Taking very hot lemongrass infusion when I have dyspepsia eliminates flatulence. It is like taking an antacid drug.

I use lemongrass for arthritis. I apply it along with a carrier oil on my arthritic joints and low back pain and have been pleased with the results.

I used it for a groin fungal infection where OTC and prescription creams did not work. I mixed three drops with a 1/4 tsp olive oil. It worked but it appears it is mildly toxic with dermal application. Applied 3x day for two weeks.Search for MDS sheet lemongrass oil and you'll see the sheet.

Hi, I am a 38 year old female. Lately, I have been experimenting with different spices and seasonings. I decided to make different meals featuring a new spice or herb so I could really experience it's taste and smell. I came across Lemongrass in the grocery aisle and decided to give it a test drive. I made lemongrass pork skewers with a fish/lemon grass sauce, and always wanting to keep with the theme for the evening, lemongrass tea/lychee/ coconut water aqua fresher. My husband and I both enjoyed the meal, declared it a success, and thought nothing about it... until the next day. My husband is an avid swimmer. He swam a mile and a half and complained about urinating a lot after his work out - which was strange for him because usually he is a bit dehydrated after working out. I commented that I had urinated like 5 times that day. Eventually I put two and two together and figured out the lemongrass was probably the culprit. Sure enough, after a google search, I confirmed lemongrass is a diuretic. I have peed 2 more times since then and feel a bit flu like and have had bouts of chills even though it is 75 degrees out. One website mentioned it is a fever reducer, so that might explain the chills. And strangely my breast are a bit tender. I can only concur lemongrass must have some type of effect on the female system maybe inducing menstrual cycles or something. And a diuretic it is! Of which, I am ready for the effects to wear off. Perhaps I overdid the lemongrass, but I would tell those not use to it to proceed with a small dose of weak tea to see how they react. I didn't notice the sedative effects, in fact, I had insomnia that night. Take care and to your health.Read More Read Less
