I have been taking this in Estroven Complete for about 6 months. It has helped tremendously for hot flashes, night sweats, and quality of sleep.

I took one pill of 4mg before bed and woke up 4 hours later almost screaming in pain because the muscles in my legs were basically seized and I could not move them. This was not your garden variety leg cramps. It felt like someone with very large hands squeezing my legs above the knees. It subsided after a few minutes, but it was very scary and a huge shock. Works better than Abreva for me. I make a tea with sliced fresh or frozen rhubarb stalk & dried sage & drink 1-3 cups of it daily until resolved, which doesn't take long. Cold sores reduce in that first day (including pain) & are gone within 3-4 days, reliably. With Abreva it takes 2+ weeks & often if not always spreads the cold sore, & aggitates & inflames the blister. If you can tolerate it, I highly reccomend it.

Chiropractor suggested for hot flashes. Mine only occur at nite (nite sweats) which disrupt sleep. Altho I didn't think it was working, once I ran out I realized just how much it has reduced the occurences...prolly about 50%. I sleep much sounder (dont wake up from sweating as much). It doesn't work immediately, tho. You do need to give it time to build up in your system. It also has a half-liff. I say this because when I ran out, for a week or so after, I was still sleeping well so I thought I could stop. I was prescribed this treatment for hot flashes. Was told that I wouldn't notice any thing for 3 to 4 weeks. It's been just over 3 weeks, and I haven't felt any relief. Will probably not continue use after medication is gone.
