  1. What's causing my pain? Can the problem be treated to make the pain go away?
  2. What can I do at home to help ease the pain? Should I ice or elevate the area? 
  3. Will over-the-counter pain medications work for me? What do you recommend?
  4. Should I take a prescription-strength pain reliever? What are the risks and side effects?
  5. What should I do if the pain gets worse?

  1. Are my medications doing enough to control my pain?
  2. How long can I take the medications I'm using? Could I become addicted?
  3. Would I benefit from other pain relief techniques, such as relaxation therapy, acupuncture, or biofeedback?

  5. Will I ever be free of pain?
