I've decided to write a review since there are a lot of neg ones. I'll be honest, when I first took this I didn't have the most pleasant experience and reading some reviews freaked me out. Here's my history -- I was diagnosed with yeast infection last year by my obgyn of which she prescribed a one day oral medicine. It took a few days for it to work, but I don't recall having any side effect...

I wish I had read the comments before purchasing this. What started out as a slight itch turned into a monster after using this product. I used this at about 10pm right before I went to bed. By a little after 12am I woke up to a whitish discharge so a pad is a must but that wasn't all. I was Itching and burning so bad I almost cried. I went to the bathroom and rinse off with water several times an...

DO NOT USE THIS. Like do not use this I’m laying here typing this after like 2 hours of crying and I am just numb. My vagina is on fire and so itchy. I am literally so mad right now it’s 1:34 am and I am up typing this. I tried scraping it out in the bathtub and It helped like 1%. I’m still laying here in agony. Only thing keeping me alive is an occasional chuckle from these comments. I have taken Benadryl, advil, AXO, and a probiotic and stuck ice up my vagina. NEVER USE THIS PRODUCT like please just go to the doctor and get pills. I will never forgot this experience in my life. Do not use this save yourselves please.Read More Read Less

DO NOT ISE THIS PRODUCT. If you’ve already used it and you’re looking for help you’ll need 4 things: Benadryl, coconut oil, ice packs, and prayer. I’m 51 and this is the worst experience I’ve ever had with a medication. The people who developed and approved this hate their mothers and ex-wives. There’s simply no other explanation. I’m 3 weeks out from using this and still having issues. Thankfully I didn’t wait until bedtime to use this crotch lava, so gravity was on my side. I’d say the itching and burning started about an hour after I used it. It became so intense that I laid under a fan and packed the area with ice packs. I finally decided that it needed to come out. I coughed and pushed until I thought it was mostly out and wiped with a wet cloth. It burn got worse. I then tried warm water and soap. It help a bit to get the rest of it gone, but the pain was still horrible! I made the mistake of looking at it. Red it the only word I know to describe it and it was visibly swollen. I grabbed some Benadryl because I assumed it was an allergic reaction (I hadn’t read reviews yet) and put the ice back in it. After another half hour I decided to try coconut oil and it help a lot. Somewhere near the beginning of this I had to pre. I tried to tighten to hold it while I get to the toilet. It was like the area was paralyzed and I peed all over. About 3 hours in my husband called. He asked if I wanted to go to the ER when he got home I n a couple more hours. Honestly, if he had been home right then I probably would have gone. I went to my PCP the next day. She was horrified. A week later I went to Gyn and was still pretty bad. Again, I’m 3 weeks out. I still have raw areas, swelling, and pain even into the bones. There are times that walking or standing is terribly painful. I’m honestly afraid there’s permanent damage. Read More Read Less

Easy to use. I inserted before bed and put the cream on. I didn’t feel any itching or burning. I’ve used the 7 day multiple times so this was my first time trying the day 1. Overall seems to be working well.

This causes extreme itching and burning. I am currently experiencing pulsating in my vagina after 4 hrs of having the cream inserted. I couldn't sleep throughout the night, I have been trying to avoid using the bathroom so I don't wash it away. I am currently in bed and do not want to leave. I started having abdominal and lower back pain. I cannot walk!!!

I took this last night and after I took it I read all the reviews and was sooooo scared that I was gonna feel like I was on fire. I had the Monistat 1 pack with the cream and the egg. I did not use the cream I only wanted to use one thing at a time so I started with the egg. I would say about an hour or so after the itch that came with this egg was absolutely horrible. I was squirming it was itching way more than I’ve ever felt before. But that only lasted for an hour. Id say 30 minutes after that it started burning but not crazy just as like if you were sitting on a heating pad. But I woke up and I don’t feel 100% better but I do feel better then before I took the pill yesterday Read More Read Less

I had used Monistat 7 during a pregnancy and didn’t have a pleasant experience. This time around I was extremely nervous to use Monistat 1 but figured the unpleasant feeling I had experienced would only be for 1 night. I followed instructions and used right before bed. I had ZERO burning or itching. Next day was already doing better with the YI. Today is day 2 after using and I’m pretty much back to normal. No issues. Highly recommend.

I am dumbfounded, with the hundreds and hundreds of reviews on here describing clear adverse effects the FDA has not stepped in to remove this evil product from sale. Shame on the FDA to allow this for sale in the first place. Clearly there are no women at the FDA because if a single woman there had taken this product they would have acted on this. Why is women’s healthcare like this? This product is UNACCEPTABLE. My experience, I thought I felt a yeast infection coming on. I’ve never had one before so looking at the 7, 3 and 1 day versions I thought why wait longer? I got the 1 day, naively unconcerned that a pharmaceutical company might try to cure a yeast infection by chemically burning my flesh off. Within 10 minutes of inserting that demon egg I was deeply uncomfortable. Within 30 minutes I was writhing in pain and bleeding. This was waaaaaay worse than a yeast infection. This was a chemical burn. The bleeding part is what got me googling and I was HORRIFIED to see all these reviews. This is not a “do your research” anecdote. This is a systemic failure to protect women. This product should never have been launched. Now it’s out here, it should never take multiple years and clearly extremely widespread adverse reactions involving excruciating pain and follow up doctors visits and treatments (not for the yeast infections, but for the burns and swelling this product causes) to get the FDA off their damn ball sacks and pull this goddamn product off the shelves. GET MAD LADIES. This is absolutely unacceptable. Shame on Monistat for continuing to sell this with zero warnings on the package where someone selecting off the shelf could see. That would be the absolute least they could do if they wanted to continue making money by burning womens vaginas, making them bleed and swell and burn and writhe and cry and scream and desperately try to remove the chemicals from their bodies and seek medical care from this product. God I’m so disgusted at how we are treated in women’s healthcare. I hope future generations read this and feel disgusted by the lot responsible for this crap. FDA I’m talking to you. Do better. I get uti's alot since I was in second grade and got a really bad kidney infection. I'm 28 now. This means I am on antibiotics alot which eventually causes yeast infections. I've always used this as soon as I start feeling itchy and a little burning and it works every time. These reviews are very dramatic and maybe they have BV or something instead, or they're blaming the itching and burning that the yeast infection is causing on the cream and ovule. The medication may make it itch more cause anything sticky on an already itchy yeast infection will cause that, but it only burns alot if you actually itch it and then it's raw with the treatment on it. Idk my pain tolerance is really high and I'm used to it, it helps me within a day every time and all the discomfort I account to the actual yeast infection. I refuse to itch down there ever before or during treatment so it won't get raw and burn when you put it on. If you're having crazy symptoms you probably don't have a yeast infection and need to go see an obgyn. My dad's an ER doctor and yeast infections and their treatments don't cause all of these insanely dangerous symptoms that are listed in these reviews. I've had a lot of experience with yeast infections and the treatment and it's literally just itchy and burning and then the treatment will make it a bit more itchy maybe but the symptoms are gone in a day.Read More Read Less

Do NOT use this product. I followed the instructions and went to bed. I woke up 3 hours later with an awful burning feeling as well as itching. I tried to wait an hour for it to get better but it didn’t…it only got worse. I tried to use some of the external cream and that made it 10x worse. I had to douche most of it out because the pain was excruciating and unbearable.

Everyone is correct on the burning 2-4 hours after insertion. However, at the 4 hour mark, I began feeling nauseous and started to lose my vision (tunnel vision) and I almost collapsed. Nothing in the 4 hours of inserting this medication have I done anything out of the usual. The only thing I did differently throughout my day was take this medication. I felt lightheaded, dizzy, nauseous, tunnel vision, slow breathing, irregular breathing, EXTREMELY WEAK, and scared. It doesn’t show on most websites about SERIOUS side effects on this medication, and I got most of those effects. Beside the horrible burning, I almost collapsed from this medication. PLEASE save yourself. Read More Read Less

The ointment is the better of the options when it comes to the 1-day treatment. Any creams, or egg inserts will literally have you on fire. Especially if the yeast infection has progressed past the early onset stage. The creams will leak out of you easier (because obviously being internal, your body temperature will melt/liquify it) and gravity will do the rest if you’re not laying down. And with your labial skin being raw from the yeast eating away at it. The scratching tearing the skin…. Of course the medicine is gonna burn like holy hell. I prefer the ointment because it’s THICK and won’t leak out until it done it’s job completely. And when it does leak out finally, it coats the irritated skin like Vaseline and further helps with the itching. I personally never have bad experiences with the ointment. Now the creams are another story. I stay far away from Monistat creams. Read More Read Less

I’ve never had a bad experience with Monistat 1. But! I will say I NEVER EVER use the cream or the egg inserts. Only the ointment. The thicker (Vaseline-like) texture prevents this “burning” sensation a lot of you all are complaining about. The ointment actually stays inside the vagina and doesn’t leak out as fast as the cream. The leaking medicine is what causes that intense burn because the skin on the lips/opening of the vagina is raw. The ointment never disappoints. And never gives me any issues. It does work in about 1-2 days. Read More Read Less

You are probably reading this because you are experiencing an intense feeling of itching or burning about 1 hour after you injected the tablet. Boy, do I have some terrible news for you. Like the rest of us, you probably didn’t read the reviews and realizing you made a grave mistake. Take 2 Tylenols right now and get ready for about 2-3 hours of the hell. I took 2 Tylenols, an edible and some Z-quil and knocked my self out. Felt tremendously better after the Tylenol but to sleep through the discomfort you may need to seek additional aid. I took the tablet at 5:47pm and around 7:30pm my hoo-ha was an inferno. As I got ready to go to urgent care, I read this reviews to find out I wasn’t alone. Highly recommend reading the rest of these reviews to distract you from the pain. I had to cancel my date with a lawyer cause didn’t want to move from my bed. A cold compress helps a tiny bit. Good luck to you solider, you are going to need it. Read More Read Less

I didn't experience the burning sensation but I did feel my insides pulsating from the ointment 30 mins after inserting it. It felt uncomfortable. The next day I felt sore down and a burning pain when I would wipe down there and the next day I had a odor. The burning is excruciating and there is more discharge. I was trying to avoid another doctor bill and visit but this failed me. Waste of money. Just go to the doctor. I know I have a yeast infection so it's weird that this didn't do it's job. Have your doctor prescribe you pills. Save your money. Hope you feel better soon. Read More Read Less

I have a yeast infection from antibiotics. I know it’s not something else because I’m not sexually active and I have only had 2 uti’s in my life. This product basically burned my vagina so bad! Currently my vagina is swollen and I’m waiting to hear back from my doctor. I have taken 2 showers and 3 baths in the course of 3 or so hours. I think I may be finally getting some relief after using a baby soap and my removable shower head and washing myself inside the best I can for 30 minutes. I’m still scared that more will come out and trigger this massive fire crotch. DO NOT USE THIS PRODUCT!!! I can’t believe it’s even on the market!Read More Read Less
