Tried Niaspan and had terrible flushing side effects. This seems to work better for me and no side effects. I also recommend Flax Plus cereal by Nature's Path. Each servings contains 500 mg of Omega 3 and it tastes good. This along with my medication have my lipid profile where it needs to be.

So far this med has really got my trigs. down fast...from 630 to 330...up my HDL's that have never been high in my life...really no side effects but my brain does feel like I am on a drug kind of spacy effect...and has carved my appetite witch I really don't mind...because it has kepted my weight down as well...I have to keep an eye on my liver, kidney & nutrient blood test as you have to with every med you take.

Side effect not mentioned in averagfe notice of side effects. For me the worst side effect is sleep talking in a clear concise manner at real time volume levels of whatever the dream dictates. From whispering to screaming to laughing and any other noises we make, it is all very clearly spoken. For me this is not normal.

Had severe back pain with weakness in legs and back. Very sluggish, unable to perform daily routines. Have fibromyolgia and feel this exaggerates my symtoms and pain. Quit taking and after a week, feel much better.

I have only been on gemifibrozil for 5 days, but I am already experiencing sluggishness, depression, nausea, and gas problems. Don't know how long I should keep it up before calling my Dr. Already had bad experience with Vytorin. CK levels were over 3,000

Aches and pains in back. Lower back became so weak I couldn't turn over in bed at night. I stopped taking it and within 3 days was much better. Doctor got mad because I stopped taking it. I have changed Doctors. Muscles are 99.9% back to normal.
