Dry cough disrupting my whole office yesterday , so ran out to the nearest pharmacy who recommend this product. Took a dose which helped. Another before bed, woke up 1 am with burning stomach, restless mind. Weird awake dreams. Alarm off at 6am, got up shaky , dizzy, blurred vision. I feel awful and have a long day of work ahead. When will this wear off?

I took the recommended amount and got a high off of it. I felt unreal and disconnected. I have never used drugs in my life but everyone told me that it sounded like I was high. I also felt nauseated! I will NEVER take this again.

Not recommended - woke up 3 hours after taking it confused,jittery,foggy and upset stomach.I could not get back to sleep and now a day later the smell or taste out of my system. It DID stop the coughing but forced me to take a sick day from work as I am still with side effects. After searching online all night i have found these sites and reviews. Dangerous kids playing with it to get high.

Delsym helped me stop coughing so I could sleep. However this product givres me an itchy rash! I claw my skin and the only thing that seems to calm the itch is an aloe vera based product. The rash is always on my upper inner thighs, and in my arm pits, and it is a red raised bumpy area. It's a maddening itch, but I have to choose sleep or scratching. I imagine the itch comes from a dye in the cough syrup.

Had a dry cough, took Delsym syrup. I feel nausea, very light headed, stomach upset, even 12 hrs after I took a teaspoonful. Couldn't sleep all night, now I'm falling asleep at my desk. There is something in this medication that makes you feel very strange! Would not recommend.

My first 2 attempts with this syrup were negative. I am not going to sumit myself to the several after effects I read on the Web site, when my 2 attempts to control the cough failed. The Pharmacist recommended it as a new type of cough supressant but definely not working for me. Never tried other cough medicines before but DELSY very disappointing.

I had a dry cough, could barely talk and was constantly feeling the need to cough or "clear my throat". This medication completely fixed those symptoms so I could rest and talk again. It also helped relieve the pressure in my chest because of the constant irritation. I did have a tiny stomach discomfort and a bit of a feeling like I was watching the world through a TV screen (just a little dizzy and out of it) but it was well worth the side effects to not constantly hack and cough.

I took delsym for a cough caused by allergies and while it did stop my cough the side effects were horrible. I literally couldn't sleep after taking it! And what little sleep I got was not very restful. I felt very light headed and disconnected with the world. Went to work and found I had a hard time concentrating and problems with my vision.I'd also would feel very nauseous and have a strange urge to cough but I'd feel like I couldn't, like there was something clogging my throat. I suffered though this for 3 days before I just couldn't take it anymore. I stopped taking it and to my surprise all the symptoms stopped and I could sleep again! I have had a cold for about 3 days and I took this medication as directed for two of the 3 days. I feel lightheaded, have had diarrhea, kept a headache, and just all around disconnected form the world around me. NOT RECOMENDED FOR CHILDREN.

Appeared to have rendered our 16 year old daughter in to a zombie like state. Later she shattered a glass while doing dinner dishes. Her reaction was to stare like she was hypnotized. Later she broke into tears. Totally out of character. Read all of the negative posts on Delsym and take care! Very scary.

I took this for a persistent, dry cough. It definitely worked at suppressing the cough and lasted the full 12 hours. However, after the second dose (10mL), I felt lightheaded and dizzy for the next 8 hours. My visual acuity was also impaired. Basically having trouble focusing. I would not advise using this if you need to go to work!

Symptoms include severe dizziness, raised blood pressure, almost a drunk feeling. But, I can breath a lot better, and my cold symptoms are gone! LOL!

Killed my cough but then killed my night and day. I woke up literally dizzy and seeing double after a horribly restless night. All day I have been dizzy, wobbly disoriented. Honestly, it has been 19 hours since I took it and I'm still light-headed. Never again.

I've taken this several times to help ease my coughing during the night so I can sleep. I've used the liquid and the lozenges. It had ZERO effect on my cough. Didn't suppress my cough at all. Plus it makes me have extremely unrestful sleep...when I take up I must wake up 30 times in the night! Not good.

HORRIBLE! I am an older man in good physical condition. I take no medications but needed something for a dry cough I get at night. I was up most of the night with terrible diarrhea! Thinking the problem was something else I took a dose before bed again only to experience the exact same results. Throw it away!!!

I experience continuing cough from air irritants, (most likely dust). Until I started using Delsym, I found the coughing interfered with my sleep, and often my daytime activity. Delsym stops it dead if I take it regularly.

after two doses my 17 yr old daughter felt very light headed,legs we're woobley, and very tired. I had to pick her up from school because she could not concentrate. after sleeping all day, she finally came into the kitchen and was talking with me. next I knew she had fainted! my husband stabilized her then we brought her to the ER. they said she was dehydrated which was a main cause for the black out, but they tried to tell me she had a viral infection. her toung felt swollen,her jaw muscle kept twitching uncontrollably,her legs were very shaky and she very dizzy. she did not feel any of this until she took the delsym. it's over 24 hrs after she took this and she still is not herself.I Will never give to any of my children again.Read More Read Less

I gave this medicine to two of my children, both teenagers. I had phone calls from both of their school nurses telling me that they were jittery, light headed, and overall not feeling well. They are still not 100% a day after taking the medicine!! We will NEVER use delsym again!!
