I love my Wellbutrin. Originally I was perscribed a twice daily routine but once daily was actually more effective for me. As far as side effects at first it actually decreased my appetite tremendously but that wore off over time. The biggest thing to remember with this drug, or any antidepressant, it takes at least 4 weeks for the effects to really be seen. Also if the depression is being caused ...

I've taken Wellbutrin before. I'm taking it for severe depression this time. I've only taken it a few days now but I'm suffering from severe dry mouth and I'm drinking lots and lots of water. At least, my depression isn't so bad now, and that is the main idea.

This medication has changed my life!! I have been smoking meth for 25 years , and smoking a pack of cigarettes daily. I had a stroke and wanted to quit cigarettes and method. My dr told me this should help. Within 3 days, I quit cigarettes and meth . I didn't think it was going to help, but I had decided to try it. I didn't have any days of a come down ( side effects of quitting method. Usually when someone quits using meth they sleep for a couple of weeks and only waking up to eat and use the restroom. And with that usually comes depression. And that's what made it hard to quit for me . I didn't want to go through that. Well this medication is great!!! I wake up earlier , haven't been tempted to smoke anything at all. My family is so happy.. I've even lost 10lbs. I did experience depression for about 2 weeks. As long as I had someone to talk to I was OK. But the effects started working immediately to stop smoking meth and cigarettes.Read More Read Less

I was given this in place of my prozac so i could have something to control my depression and help with smoking cessation. Well, I have become very maximus, irritable, hostile, angry, explosive, sad, emotional, thought of survive, a strong desire to hurt someone else,to the point i almost got in an altercation in church, of all place and i am a very nice, peaceful person normally. Then someone said maybe it is a change in my meds and i locked it up and everything im EXPERIENCING is on the list. While this education works well for my son, it is not for everyone. Pay attention to mood changes. Read More Read Less

Let me tell you to stay far away from this medication if you have anxiety or adhd. I tried this medication for only 3 weeks and it has altered my life for the worst. I cried all the time, extremely depressed, emotionally torn, hateful towards others, hated the world. My heart started skipping beats, increased my anxiety soaring through the roof. I have still to this day head/ear fullness, insomnia, eye floaters, elevated blood pressure, visual disturbances, severe arm and leg weakness, muscle fatigue and on and on. Please, get the genotype testing that's checks your genetic disposition of your bodies makeup, and what psych meds are suitable for you.Read More Read Less

It was given to me to stop smoking. Only started working after 5 weeks of use. Before the 5 weeks I got irritated, anxious and jittery. Afterwards it gave me energy, I smoked much less than before (from 30 per day down to about 7 to 10) and although the anxiousness still happens, I think it's great. I don't want to stop using it.

For me, Wellbutrin SR did NOT work by itself. Once my pdoc paired it with an SSRI (Effexor XR), I have noticed a distinctive change in this medication's effects on me. It does cause a general increase in a person's Adrenaline levels, which explains the increased sweating and dry mouth. Most, if not all, side effects are temporary. But beware going off this drug cold-turkey--it WILL cause electric shock-like sensations in your brain! SSRI + SNRI = ...happiness? I hope!

I was prescribed Bupropin for weight loss. My doctor gave me two months worth and so far so good. I started the medication on September 29, 2014 and went back for my follow up today, November 17, 2014. I have lost 7 pounds. I do work out for 45-60 five days a week. I eat sort of healthy but I also eat what I want but only in moderation. I was on the 150mg but this go round I moved up to 300mg, I will start that in two weeks. The only "bad thing" with this medication is NO Alcohol. I'll post again in another six weeks.Read More Read Less

While it did take 3 weeks, I feel more positive, rarely cry, don't allow my personal life to drag me under, and best of all...my interstate daily commute doesn't consume me. Less sexual desire, less desire to eat. Usually have a small glass of wine 3 to 5 times a week; rarely now and I don't miss it...much. It has effected my sleep. Had to increase Ambien to 5mg (from 2.5)which I take every night. Its hard to make my brain shut down, even tho my bod is tired.

I have been a Tobacco (Copenhagen) user for 30 years. During my last doctors visit my doctor asked me if I still dip Copenhagen & I said yes. He started giving me a hard time & told me I need to quit. I then told my doctor "unless there is a magic pill I can take I will never quit" he then prescribed me Wellbutrin. The pharmacy gave me the generic. Well after taking the wellbutrin for 2 months I am happy to say that I havnt had a dip for 30 days now. after about 3 weeks I stopped craving a dip. Every once in a while I think about but after about 30 seconds I forget about it. Thank You Wellbutrin!!!! My Mouth has never felt better and my teeth are always white now.Read More Read Less

Works just OK. Does seem to help with depression and impulsive actions and to quit smoking. Can make anxiety much worse if you already suffer from it.

I have been on Anti-Depressants for 14 years and have been on EVERY POSSIBLE PILL out there. A couple years ago I started to become a gorophobic, and extremely tired..no energy..no gumption. They added Wellbutrin SR 150mg twice daily and immediately I felt the change!! It probably saved my life..I also felt like giving up. I would recommend to anyone that needs a little boost of energy to get you going..thats what my psychiatrist told me it would do..and it did. This drug is amazing to me!!!
