My husband has had 2 surgeries in the past 10 years and got hiccups after both of them. The first surgery's hiccups lastest 3 days off and on, mostly on. This was prescribed by my doctor. i now wet the bed and get highs from this drug. i see people and hear voices. im very scared please help!

Episodes of intractable hiccups were alleviated with 100mg IM dose and 50 mg po dose every four hours for approx. 2 days. My hiccups lasted 2-3 days before going to ER for this med. Have had them on and off for 20 years and this dosage always works for me. I get the hiccups on average every 2-3 years.

When my Dr. first put me on this medication it work very well for my treatment. After a few year, my legs and arms began to twist and turn at night so much, I could not stop them. It gave me "Reckless Leg Syndrome", which is one of the side affects for this drug.

Hallucinations and voices have ceased completely, I can deal with the drowsiness and dehydration. The only problem I have with this drug is a complete loss of personality or affect.

My dr perscribed this because i was having trouble unwinding at night and found it hard to sleep,I also would be very anxious.I found it most definitly helped my sleep but i didn't want to get up the next day.

the doctor has perscribed this to me, when the newer drugs were not working. so far i have found thatit helps but feel i should add that during the first week of treatment I had a problem with bedwetting. It went away afterwards but as itis not listed here i felt it might be nice to warn others it could happen

After having hiccups, for 4 days staight,2 doses of chlorpromazine and I finally slept through the nite,waking with hiccups gone !!

I just started taking this for serious hiccups, but after reading what else it is used for its scary. So far my hiccups has stopped and I only have to take this as needed. Which is ok for me! Maybe now I can get some sleep.
