This is a good med. I have been chronic pain patient following car accident 10years ago. I was on oxycontin and percocet for break through... this is better. It took three months before I think I got the full effect of what it cold do for me. Something about the receptors being fully turned on for this med. I was frustrated at first, needing something for breakthrough. I am glad I trusted the phys...

this is a very dangerous drug; it is hardly tolerable & has caused my client to become very addicted to this product. we would not consider giving it to anyone that has a very low tolerance to pain medications; even in a low dose. my client has ended up in the hospital after taking just 2 doses & is going to have to go through detox & then treatment; becvause their system cant seem to functin without this medication.

I have had 4 major spine surgeries and a spinal cord stimulator put in permanently. Ive tried several opiates for pain and Opana works great for me. I take Opana ER and Opana IR 3-5 a day for severe chronic pain. Nothing works better me. Ive been using Opana for over 7 years.

Extremely expensive. Not covering my pain at more that 20%. Was taking Methadone for R.s.D. for 20 yrs because of new report was taken off of it and put on this. I have had 17 surgeries 2 caused the r.s.d. what are doctors and patients to do now to effect pain relief for their chronic patients. Today life isn't feeling special at all jus painful.

I had to switch from Oxycontin to oxymorphone due to insurance reasons. This drug has not worked at all for me. The oxycontin worked wonders but the oxymorphone is of no help. I also went from 20mg Oxycontin to 15mg oxymorphone. Thanks insurance company for ruining my life!! (Chartis)

Have been prescribed similar opiate meds for severe, continuous lower back pain (post-surgery) that have made me groggy, clumsy, and forgetful. Opana has far less of the aforementioned side affects and works better to take the edge off of the pain that I experience. I recommend this medication for anyone suffering from severe pain symptoms. However, Opana has the same opportunity for dependence, addiction, or misuse as any other opiate.

I can't really comment on this medication yet because I just started it yesterday. Some of the reviews I have read helped me to know there is hope. I have L1-L6 Herniated Discs in neck pressing on Spine, arthritis in lower back, dislocated Collarbone & Carpal Tunnel. I have been on Percocet 10/325 for 5 yrs, helps so I can go to work. Tried Hydromorphone, thought I would lose my mind, slight headache but very nausous, sweats and 30 minutes sleep at a time.Went back to Pain Mgt Dr. after 4 days of this and switched me back to Percocet and Opana 10mgs. He said since I can tolerate the Percocet I should have no problem with the Opana, so today is the big day. Also recently had RADIO FREQUENCY ABALATION of the neck. HURT LIKE HELL PEOPLE.The after affects is horrible, pain worse then before the procedure, doc says this is what is suppose to happen because it slowly kills off the nerves. HOWEVER, it only last 6-12 months sometimes longer for some people sometimes shorter. I hope the two meds together will make me pain free. I pray for you all that we all will be pain free one day!Read More Read Less

I've suffered for years from lower back pain of unidentified origin. I'm NSAID/Tylenol intolerant. I've tried Oycodone, Nucyenta, methadone, fentanyl, hydromorphone, and tramadol with limited success. Opana is the best at managing my pain hands down but tends to make me sleepy. It also makes me nasueous but it is easily controlled with Phenergran and is reducing the longer I'm on the drug. It also only last 8 hours in me instead of 12 but is easily remedied by three times/day dosing. The cost is a big drawback- even with my fantastic insurance it cost almost $300/mo for a 30 day supply.Read More Read Less

Very groggy, consistent migraine (Primary Dr. states it's called a "Transfer Migraine" due to change in opioid, and nothing helps! Have difficulty urinating, having to strain to get urine flowing, with frequent stops in between! Very confused, memory worse, dizziness - This is not a good drug, and don't know why it's being prescribed for pain! It is not worth the side effects it's causing me!!
