Before taking this medication my migraines were unpredictable and very speratic. I have been on it since 2001 and Life is very different and my headaches are mostly around my menstrual cycle.

The only problem I have is dry mouth, but you are supposed to drink alot of water with this medication anyway.

i have memory loss i have tingle in my hands an feet real bad memory loss this medication has taken my life over, yet if i go off of it i will get real bad migrains so what do i do? cannot stand medication

I have been using topamax for 10 months and have had only 2 migraines. It does seem to make me a little "fuzzy" when I first take a dose, but that decreases within an hour or so. Overall, I have been pleased with how it has controlled the frequency of my migraines. I have had them for 25 years and my previous medication (Inderal) had just really become ineffective.

There are side effects that can be irritating such as taste buds being changed. Pop doesn't taste the same, and you can lose weight from this medication as I lost 5 pounds.

DO NOT GO ON THIS MEDICATION, I was prescribed this medication for migraines and it has completely ruined my life. When I was on topiramate my arms and legs would go numb and I could not move them, I started to halucinate and have all kinds of mental problems. I also stopped being able to get an erection and lost all sexual feelings what so ever, including acheiving an orgasm. I also developed a stomach ulcer as well as alot of lower abdomine problems, along with my urine turning white. I have been off of topiramate for 4 months now and I am still suffering from all of the problems that it created. Please do yourself a favour and do not take this medication!!!!!Read More Read Less

Nice to use cost was high would not change

i have very bed migrains and it works. i get dry mouth. cant drink soda anymore, and have to take 2 pills evey day and my toes go numb all the time im going too lose my insurance fir a while soon and its 150 a month but i wont stop taking it because i cant bear the thought of those headaches. hope this helps.

After a month on a very low dose of 25 mg my GP doubled the dosage and things went bad. I could not stay awake at all then I had a severe allergic reaction that looked like a simple red rash on my face one day and broke out into full blow hives everywhere and acute swelling of my face and throat. I could barely open my eyes to see and breathing was difficult and only improved three days after stopping the drug and taking massive amounts of antihistamine.

my crazy md is prescribing for the most severe coccyx pain. s/p spinal fusion s/p riziotomy 4 days ago. i hurt like hell.

This is a big help with cronic migraines.
