Was on Wellbutrin for a yr then was switched to Budebrion. Been on Budeprion XL 300mg for a yr now. It's been great for me. Read all the other reviews which say it is terrible. Guess I must be the exception. I found absolutely no difference or side effects when I was switched over.

Even this generic is not inexpensive, so I didn't get my last refill and stopped taking it for a month. I felt fine and no withdrawals. The only thing is it made me gain 5-7 pounds in one month, so I am taking it again.

I have manic bipolar disorder and was taking Wellbutrin XL. I had a couple of headaches was switched to another depressant and it did not work. I told the doctor to maybe up my dose on the wellbutrin, so he did. Because I have a state medical card, Wellbutrin is no longer covered, only the budeprion. Since I have been taking this my rages are back, depression is still there, headaches, anger, mood swings, etc. What more can a person do to get the makers of this to see that they are only making us worse instead of helping us? Is there any legal action we can take to just get them to quit making it and return us to Wellbutrin XL?Read More Read Less

I was on Wellbutrin XL 450mg (3- 150mg tablets once/day). I was doing well and liked it much better than Paxil. Recently, my drugstore began carrying the generic and filled my last refill with Budeprion. I felt awful after only 3-4 days on the medication. I had severe headaches, high anxiety and irritability that I never experienced when taking brand name Wellbutrin. I have some quite a bit of reading online and I am shocked at the number of people experiencing the same problems. The FDA did an investigation in 2007 regarding therapeutic effect and bioequivalence and concluded they were the same in budeprion and Wellbutrin. But the volume of complaints out there seem to indicate the contrary. Please, if you are having issues, go to the FDA webside and file a report so that they can be aware of the sheer number of people affected. The launched an investigation based on 85 post marketing complaints and there are a lot more than 85 people out there complaining about this drug. Read More Read Less

My wife has been taking this for about 6 or 8 months now. She first said it was going to be for a month, but... Now, after almost 14 years of marriage we are about to divorce. She is constantly angry, sad and does not want to even touch me. She does not want to stop taking it and doesn't want to see that she has gotten worse since she started taking it. So fricking sad. This is the end I guess

After being on Wellbutrin BCBS insurance decided they were switching me to this generic. I am fighting with them now, this generic does not work! My symptoms are worse than what they were before I was on Wellbutrin. This drug should be taken off the market.

Was doing great on Wellbutrin, but when switched to Budeprion XL I was worse than before I started taking Wellbutrin. Headaches constantly, nausea, crying spells, body aches, severe felling of usefulness. Don't recommend!

I was on a twice a day tablet at 100mg per tablet for five months and had a significant difference in quality of life. Since my Doctor decided to increase my dosage to 300mg of this once daily pill my quality of life has diminished dramaticaly. I've only been on it for five weeks and I am completely miserable i.e. crying spells, severe anxiety, feeling hopeless and at times almost crazy, and troubles with sleep and also a lowered sex drive. I did not have these problems with the twice daily pill I was on before. After reading other reviews I feel better knowing that it may have something to do with this drug being the generic version and now I know i can call my doctor and change something. This is obviously not working at all.Read More Read Less

most mornings I feel very nauseated, for a period of 30 min. My depression is at a so/ so level. I have felt better on Wellbutrin xl tab 300mg (non generic.)-- RX program makes generic $ saving.-- Want to go back to Wellbutrin 33mg. anyway. Felt much better and less depressed.

I have been on Budeprion XL for nearly one year. I have had a great success with it. Being on Effexor prior to this, it has been a great change for me. Only now am I noticing a small decrease in effectivness. I'm going to up my dose and see what happens. Overall I've been pleased.

Was switched to this generic after many satisfied years on Wellbutrin XL(BC/BS won't cover it anymore). After 5 weeks, I'm irritable and crying. I'm a mental health professional and am going to take this up with insurance. I've managed my depression with Wellbutrin XL and healthy living. I feel horrible on this. Research on the Web is showing that many people are experiencing a re-emergence of their symptoms with budeprion. It works completely different in the body than Wellbutrin. Very frustrating.Read More Read Less

I was switched to this generic after being on Wellbutrin XL for several years with success. Within days, I experienced intense nausea, stomach cramping, dizziness, uncontrollable crying episodes and severe body aches. There is also an article about the problems with this generic in the prevention magazine for January 2008 which states it works very differently than Wellbutrin XL. For me this generic has been bad news!!!!!

After 3 months on this drug, I opened up a new refill (manufactured by Teva) and within a couple of hours my symptoms came back worse than ever. It was a catastrophic kind of difference that could have had more serious consequences in a person whose condition is more severe than mine. I had heard on the NPR radio show The People's Pharmacy a story about problems with the generic bupropion extended release. I called my doctor and got a prescription for Wellbutrin XL. Within 3-4 days, not only were my symptoms gone but, all the side effects were gone and, I've never (and I mean never) felt better. In hindsight, this generic wasn't working at all. In fact, according to my spouse (my best source for feedback on how I'm doing), it was making my condition worse. The radio show I mentioned has reported it's listeners' negative feedback (over 100 reports) to the FDA. My doctor will be reporting this issue as well since I am not the only one of his patients to have had this experience. I think there are some SERIOUS problems with this specific generic.Read More Read Less

Worked great initially. Dosage had to be increased after a couple of months. Then after several more months..... medicine was not sufficient any longer. May be just me that gets use to the drug too easily but should be aware these things happen even with great working initially.
