nausea and vomiting when first taking med

I have been taking Metformin 1000mg Tabs for quite some time twice each day. A recent A1C test was recorded as 7.3. My doctor then gave me samples of Janumet-and advised me to take this drug 2 times each day in addition to my Metformin. I also take glipizide twice each day. My blood sugar is running from 111 to 185 each day when I test. My question is whether or not I am taking too much Metromin each day?? (This is my second request for an answer.)

I was diagnosed and placed on Metformin 2X1000mg.daily approx. 1 yr. ago which was erratic in controling my blood sugar level it was replaced with this med. which I have been taking for 2 days to date and I've experienced immed. results.Presently, although I've experienced initially a slight itchy sensation,which have dramatically subsided,I've recordedconsistently lower readingssince. I feel more alertness,energy and general overall wellness then I felt since prior to diagnosis and during Metformin treatment alone.Although I'm due for a A1C comparison test in Dec. thus far I believe and am very hopeful of this drug promise of a lower level from my now 8.7. NOTE:Also, prescribed inconjunction with this med. will be Duetact which I'll start today.Coupled with these two and with proper eating and moderate exercise I see a future of averting insulin dependency. Look for another evaluation from me in approx.3-4 weeks or sooner if unanticipated effects occur.Read More Read Less

WAS TAKING 1000MG METFORMIN TWICE DAILY, CHANGED TO JANUMET 50/1000 IN AM AND 1000MG OF METFORMIN IN PM, MY A1C DROPPED FROM 7.1 TO 5.7 AFTER 2 MONTHS, WILL WATCH FOR SIDE EFFECTS AND COMMENT LATER,ALTHOUGH I DO FEEL BETTER

My only complaint is the size of the pill, I have trouble swallowing it. Have lost 30 lbs., don't crave chocolate/sweets much any more, actually don't crave food much in general. Sugar is down to normal range, which was the main reason for taking it.

Very effective in reducing blood sugar levels. No side effects noticed as yet. Have been taking since February.

Finally I have no swelling in my feet or hands and am losing much needed weight. and am starting to get my energy back.

Amazing!! Lost 15 lbs in the first 2 months on Janumet alone! Metabolism is working better with increased energy, plus no side effects. My blood sugar is also back in the normal range!

60 year old male, with extreme urination problems. 2 weeks on this medication the problem disapeared completly. I let this medication sit on my desk for three months before I took it, I am very stubborn on taking medications. This has made my life comfortable again.

I am experiencing a weird odor, I first thought it was my feet. It started a week after I started this pill Janumet. I stopped my Metformin and My Amaryl. Doctor says it should help with weight loss. Has anyone had this experience?

I started taking this medication four months ago on my 52nd birthday.After the third day i started to feel 90 percent better.I have been able to maintain my weight and continue to feel better.

Been on Janumet for 6 months. Previous Metformin 1000 mg twice daily. My AIC was 6.8 and is now 7.5. See no effect.
