My 11 year old son started a 30 day med trial of Vyvanse after a year on Adderal XR (even with a noon booster of regular Adderal, it just wasn't lasting through homework time). YIKES...we only made it to day 4 before we stopped the vyvanse. As a nurse i have been taking vyvanse for almost a year now and have seen so many improvements in myself, i used several other medications, the largest drawback of this medication in the dry, dry mouth. WOW. But it does not have highs and lows, like others have. I actually feel in control now compaired to other medications.

A Nurse’s Personal Experience: I've been taking Vyvanse for the last month, prior to that I was on Effexor XR. Effexor gave me too much in the morning & then tapered off to no effect around 3pm. Vyvanse has no noticeable ups or downs for me. I don't get jittery at all & I think that my anxiety has actually decreased since I stopped the effexor. When my vyvanse wears off abou ...
