I am a healthy, active 61 yr old female. I have none of the â?? Do Not Take â??conditions which are posted on the Mucinex D box. A friend suggested I try Mucinex D when I developed a cough along with heavy mucus. After following the manufacturers directions for six days, one tablet every 12 hours, I was hospitalized with a heart beat at 171. Medical bills out of pocket over $5000.00, A stress ...

I took a similar prescription med on/off for 17 years, and then it was discontinued by the manufacturer. My pharmacist said Mucinex D had the same ingredients, but OTC. Works great when I take it at the FIRST SIGN of cold symptoms. If I wait too long and have a cold, it will not work as well. I highly recommend this often to my friends & family. Please do not discontinue it :)

Definitely not worth the minimal benefits. I have taken it twice a day for 2 days. I can't remember ever sleeping as poorly as I have the last two nights. I was awake at least every hour. Dried out my throat and I would wake up feeling like I was going to choke. I felt chilled at times, although I have had no fever. The second night, I had severe stomach pain all night---like nothing I've ever had before. I also was dizzy and literally bounced off the walls when I got up during the night. It's going right into the trash. No thanks!Read More Read Less

The only two things I have against Mucinex D is the fact that the pill is so ridiculously huge and that every mucusy orifice will smell like the medication... if you know what I mean. Remember to drink PLENTY of water with it!

I have had the worse flu/cold ever coughing, stuffy nose, the works. While it was effective in clearing up my sinuses and making it easier to breathe. I gave me the mother of all migraines. I can't even cough without feeling like my head is going to implode. I would use this product again but probably just get the normal dosage instead of super strength. the migraine is seriously the worse ever. and i feel awake and unable to sleep well. i hope that helped

I have noticed a difference with the coughing, however I have not been able to sleep well while using it, have had an elevated heart rate, nausea and vomiting, and it almost seems like an acid reflux thing...but that might be from stomach acid from all of the vomiting. I have taken this before last year when I had bronchitis. I did not react well to it then either. I do ot recommend this product...especially to those like me who have a sensitivity to drugs. I have pretty much been throwing up since 9pm last night....off and on. It is now 5am. I called the pharmacist and he told me of this as a side effect for the drug. I did not see this on the bottle. Anyway, my 2 cents...though the product is effective with the phlegm...I do not think the benefits outway the cost.Read More Read Less

I had great relief from Max. Strength DM, I haven't had to use it for a long time. The only side effect I had was my urine smelled while I was using it.

I had a deep chest cough and a runny nose and I was losing my voice. The first dose I took brought about relief. I could breath. My side effects were sleeplessness at night, cramps in my feet, thirsty and not hungry. I'm on my 5th pill was going to try and get along without it but my nose began to clog up again. When I took this 5th pill I received immediate relief.

As a decongestant it was great, but with the ability to show a false positive on a urine test.

This product was very helpful with a severe sinus infection that resulted in a minor case of bronchitis. The only problem is the size of the pill...7/8 of an inch long and chubby!!! One side effect that should be listed is choking hazard! I wonder if they could break it down into 2 pills; one that is time released and one that is not?

I have benefited from this drug extensively. I have had severe sinus alergies for 6 months and this drug has helped reduce the mucous production.

I am prone to sinus infections, since taking Mucinex, I have been able to prevent a sinus infection. The side effect I get, is sleeplessness, being thirsty. I prefer not to sleep well for a few days, then deal with a full blown sinus infection.

Ever since taking this when getting a cold i have avoided bronchitis and sinus infections. The only negative side affect i have incurred is sometimes i have had trouble sleeping, but taking it earlier rather than later has helped this. I definitely recommend this product for people who are prone to sinus/upper respiratory infections or bronchitis - you'll notice the difference right away. Read More Read Less

I took this medication for cold (stuffed nose) and cough symptoms. I did not find complete relief with this as I have with tylenol cold or the like. Although it did help a bit. In addition it made me nauseaus and the pills are so large. For the price paid and only partial relief with horrible side affects - I dont recommend this product!

One of the worst colds I think I've had in ages. Seems like it may have helped at least with the stuffy nose and stuffy ears.
