Delsym did help ease my cough but also let to severe dizziness that let to violent vomiting. Truly horrible experience. I will NEVER use Delsym again.

waste of money

Took this for cough what I mistake. Within an hour started feeling very sick to the stomach, almost fainted then was throwing up so much acid felt like I was drugged out could not sleep at all , coughing never stopped. I thought I was going to die after taking this I felt like a poison. Big mistake! I can't imagine giving this to a child. Was extremely sick for 12 hour fairing and throwing up.

I have always used this medicine with my kids. This was my first time ever taking it. It seemed to help within about ten minutes. It lessened the cough so I could sleep. But I awake about four hours after taking it to moderate diareeha. I could handle the side effect better than the cough.

I have used this since my 15-yr old daughter was 2 yrs old, & the pediatrician told me to use this over the prescription medications offered. A persistent cough cleared up almost immediately, and I have recommended it ever since. We have used it in my family, & I always buy it for my friends with coughs that just won't quit. I could not recommend Delsym any higher and am thankful for all of the sleepless nights they have saved us from over the years. I recently tried the generic, however, to save a few bucks... I don't know what the difference is, but generic doesn't work. They must have a secret ingredient... my guess is magic.Read More Read Less

I'm a professional trumpet player, and got a horrible cough/cold 2 days before a performance. I took Delsym 10 hours before the gig. Major fatigue, slept for 4 hours, then acid-trip disorientation, weird colors, distance perception problems. Also nausea/lack of appetite, and MAJOR diarrhea, which even Imodium didn't control. Huge mistake taking it at all, let alone before a performance. During the concert I also had the chest pain/palpitations others report, then later insomnia. Coughing symptoms were eased, not eliminated. Less than two hours later had moderate diarrhea.

Works on my cough, but 4 hours after taking I had diarrhea.

Didn't quite get rid of all the coughing but did help most of it. I'd definitely recommend this for someone with a dry cough. I was VERY sleepy the next day though.

Althought the med is,effective, I'm.concern with the innactive ingredients includingp propylparabens, propyl glycol, high fructose, corn syrup, which are unhealthy fillers to have. In a medication ...

Had shortness of breath and tachycardia that sent me to ER uncontrolled nervousness 6 hour after i took the medicine.

I took a generic over the counter drug (like Delsym, same ingredients). I have shortness of breath, a bit of nervousness, and can't sleep. This is now 20 hours after taking the dose.

Do not wast your time or money on this product. Unfortunately higher price does not equal higher quality. We administered to our daughter and may as well have not given her any medicine as she continued to cough; except, we had to wait 12 hours before we could give her something that works.

After taking a dose of this drug, diarrhea ensued. It may have help with the cough somewhat, but the side effect of the diarrhea overrides any benefit it may have.

I took this medicine at 11:30pm for a cough that seemed to be killing me. Around 12:30am, I felt extremely wired, the room was spinning, and everything was moving in slow motion. I became extremely hot and when I laid down, I couldn't catch my breath. On top of all that, the cough never stopped. This is absolutely the worse product I have ever taken!

I took Delsym 12 hour for a cough that kept me from sleeping. It was recommended by the store pharmacist. A couple of hours later I got severe diarrhea. I stopped Delsym after two doses. The diarrhea was worse then the cough. Note the cough never subsided.

This has really help reduce the coughing. The medince does make me feel a little weird but all cold medicine does. Helped me sleep through the night. I would recommend this to anyone with a cough.

took for 4 days,dificulty walking and talking,dilate pupils,hyper- racy stimulated. Felt like adrenaline surges. It's been 60+ hrs. since last dose and my eyes are still dilated.

This medicine made my heart beat very rapidly, and I felt like I couldn't breathe. I almost went to the emergency room. Will never take again.

I took this medicine at about 12pm and started feeling weird. I felt nauseated, drowsy and anxious. although it helped to minimize the coughing came time to go to sleep i couldn't sleep until 4am. This medicine took a long time to wear off. mind you i only took one dose of it.
