I have been taking it for 10 years and I am very happy with the medication. It keeps my colon calm and I don't have to urinate as often since I have been taking this medication. I was given this when I had ulcerative colitis.

taking homax as directed has not done anything to lessen the pain at times even causing cramping that did not have before the med.

The sub lingual application of this drug works very quickly. Swallowing this drug or taking other drugs for the same purpose can take up to ah hour to kick in. When taken sub lingually it seems to only take 10 or 15 minutes. When your intestines begin churning that short time to action is critical.

I took this medication to relieve severe abdominal pain and cramping after gastric bypass surgery. My body is still adjusting to different foods and sometimes I experience intense gas and other unexpected reactions after meals. This medicine is the only thing that helps when the pain is too intense for me to wait it out. I usually fall asleep within seconds of taking it and wake up feeling perfectly fine.

I have achalasia, this was prescribed to me in the hope that I could eat until I receive my Heller myotomy as the Botox treatment I received didn't take. So far, this has allowed me to eat a small bite of food every 10 minutes or so which is an extreme improvement over only being able to drink absolutely smooth liquids.

It is so nice to be able to eat most anything without having an attack of diarrhia within 30 minutes to 1 hour thereafter. This prescription is the only thing I have ever been prescribed by my doctor to work this effectively.

my daughter has been taken this medicine for a condition of sever adominal pain and the first couple of weeks it really helped. the pain eased and she was able to go back to school. but today she woke up with badly reden eyes and extremly blurred vision. tonight the side effects have become worse, now she has tightness of the chest and she says it feels like someone is sitting on her chest only harder. she is ten years old and im not sure if all this is normal does the benifits really out weigh the risks?? has anyone else had this happen to them??Read More Read Less

I have had esophageal spasms for over 20 years since major cancer surgery. The first time my attack was treated for over five hours in an ER for a heart attack and given many different drugs to stop the pain, but nothing worked. All of a sudden the pain stopped by itself, and they sent me home. The next week I went to my family doctor and described the symptoms of severe pain in the middle of my chest, difficulty in speaking or swallowing, and sweating. He said it sounded like esophageal spasms, and that he had suffered with them for many years. He prescribed Levsin SL (generic: Hyoscyamine SL) which I have used many times since. Putting one of these tablets under my tongue will stop the spasms within 5 to 10 minutes. I keep the pills near at all times, and I feel it has saved my sanity. Read More Read Less

It says to notify your doctor if you are taking any prescriptions for anxiety, well my mom is the patient and I reviewed the medication called Lorazepam; an anxiety drug. Do these drugs counteract each other or is the safety of my mom at risk?

after many different treatments and tests, i was finally put on this medication. so far it has worked well. i feel i am able to broaden my food groups slightly without feeling pain. Even though i am taking the medication i am still afraid to eat certain foods that i know trigger my symptoms. the only downfall of this medication is it makes me sooooooo sleepy. does anyone else have this problem? sometimes i feel i cant even function at work.
