I have only been using Aczone for about a month. My doctor put me on this along with Retin-a Micro to assist in the breakout period that comes along with Retin-a Micro. So far I have seen positive results, though I still have a long way to go (dry skin and some redness.) Just a tip (I didn't know this beforehand) Wait 20 minutes after cleansing to apply product.

I have used this product for a total of 10 days now because I was breaking out around my jaw line and my forehead and it has made my skin worse waaaayyyyy WORSE. I have never had acne problem until now I'm 29 and work out a lot sometimes I don't have time to shower right after a run since I do run during my lunch hour but still wash my face so i figured the pimples i was getting were from that never did i think that this stupid product which cost me a lot would make it worse!!!im so disappointed i wish i could give it a minus rating!Read More Read Less

This drug is actually amazing. My cystic acne was very painful and nothing was working including oral antibiotics. Within a few weeks aczone cleared my face of cystic acne. It doesn't burn or dry out skin like peroxide based products. Very pleased!

I've had hormonal cystic acne since my mid twenties. About 9 months ago, I finally saw a dermatologist who prescribed aczone in addition to an antibiotic day cream. Huge difference! My acne has virtually disappeared. I ran out of aczone for a few weeks and had a bad break out, but as soon as I refilled the prescription, my skin cleared right up again! Follow the instructions and don't stop taking it or else you will break out again.

Aczone is amazing! I have tried so many over the counter drug store products for my acne and nothing helped. I have extremely oily skin, so I felt that the oily skin contributed greatly to my clogged pores. When I started using Aczone, I saw an immediate improvement in my overall skin quality. My skin is not nearly as oily as before and I haven't had a breakout since I've been using this gel! Great product!

This medication seemed to work the first day or two. Skin looked clear and pores were tightening. On the third day though, my skin broke out worse than before using the product. And the acne was very painful, under the skin which is not what I usually suffer with. I did not like this product at all. It was very expensive and I was let down by this treatment.

I have over-40 cystic acne & have tried everything, including antibiotics, tretinoins, adapalene, azelaic acid, benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid, bc pills, and spironolactone, but nothing worked. My skin was dry, peeling, red, and terrible all-around, and I'd constantly hide behind a mask of makeup, even at the gym and pool. A month ago, I began a treatment of a sulfa antibiotic and Aczone. After 2 weeks on the sulfa drug, I had a serious allergic reaction. I was put on a course of prednisone for appx 10 days. After 5 days, I slowly began reintroducing Aczone. I've had truly wonderful with Aczone results so far. My skin is clearing, softer and more finely textured, with no peeling or dryness whatsoever. No new cysts have formed, and even the smaller blemishes are clearing. My skin is still healing from all the trauma it's endured over the last few years, but I'm excited to say that for the first time in YEARS, I am able to leave the house with just a little bit of concealer and some tinted BB cream on my face - no heavy foundation anymore! I don't think I'll ever have perfect Hollywood skin, but I'm really happy with the results so far. It's a win-win for me. I definitely recommend this product.Read More Read Less

I started using Aczone January 2012 before my June 2012 wedding. I had never suffered from acne of any form until my early 20's. Most of my acne was around my chin area and came in the form of the under the skin type, that were so painful, left scaring, that I had to have laser done to get rid of even, and lasted weeks at times! I tried so many over the counter things, different prescriptions prescribed by my dermatologist. Sometimes they worked but nothing really helped the whole aspect from clearing up my skin, prevention and reducing the red marks left behind. Finally he suggested Aczone which was something new that he had been given some samples of and insurance did not cover. This was 5 months before my wedding and I wanted a beautiful clear clean face for me wedding day, of course. I used the samples religiously at night, even though it was recommended twice a day. (I like the feel of face lotion) for the day. I started seeing results within a few weeks. No acne, blemishes started to fade and I wasn't getting any painful, long lasting under the skin pimples! I still continue to use Aczone nightly and swear by it 100%! Another plus, my dermatologist office got my insurance to cover it for me! They did have topprovide some special narrative to my insurance for coverage but I got it. I recommend this product to anyone suffering from adult acne! I am starting to see some commercials about Aczone and hope the product manufactures get their name out there more to sales reps for dermatologist offices! This stuff really works! I've had acne for about 9 years now, and i've tried almost all types of creams as well as antibiotics and acne medication except for accutane. None worked, I finally went on Aczone, and in about 2 months my acne decreased a significant amount. The acne isn't completely gone nor are the scars, but the amount of acne definitely decreased.

My acne, unlike most peoples' is rather odd. I rarely get "pimples", I have the type of acne where it is under the skin but not cystic, they are like small bumps. How most people recognize it is when your outside or you have light shining on your face, its distinguishable and VERY visible. I have used MANY topical products: metro-gel, differen, clyndamicin (I don't know if they're spelled correctly), and I have used oral antibiotics: cephalexin, rantidine, birth control, retin-A and retin-B products. None have worked, EVER. I went to my derm yesterday and she recommended a penicillin based product: Aczone. I used it once, last night, and this morning I literally woke up with 80% of my acne gone, I had 2 pimples and those were gone, and my under the skin bumps vanished. I am waiting to see if the remaining 'bumps' will disapear as well. The only thing that bothers me, like ALL topicals, are that they make your skin sun sensitive so you will have to use sunscreen 24-7 even if you spend most of your day inside. I love it!!!Read More Read Less

Started using aczone Dec 2012 at 27yrs old i started breaking out all around my forehead. I went to see a dermatologists, he prescribed me aczone along with epiduo. I was to use aczone 2xs a day and epiduo every night. I took about 3mo for my acne to be completely gone. Epiduo dried my face specially around my t zone and forhead. I continued applying moisturizer 2xs a day and it helped once i stopped using epiduo. I continued using aczone here and there after the first 3mo on any zit that might appear it would practically be gone within a couple of days. Unfortunately i ran out of aczone and i started breaking out again Dec 2013. I refilled my prescription again, and again it is working wonders. The only con i have its the price if the medication :/Read More Read Less

I am 36 years old and have oily skin. Despite this, I never had much of an issue with acne other than a few monthly pimples in the T-zone, and light bumps (not whiteheads, just bumps) on my forehead and blackheads on my nose. My skin is not baby smooth, but from 3 feet away it looks perfectly clear. I don't wear a lot of makeup, and although I should drink more water I do eat well and am healthy. Sometime in the last year, I began to get adult hormonal acne on my jawline and neck. In the last 6 months it has gotten really bad, and it's embarrassing. I got fed up, and after seeing aczone commercials I went to the dermatologist. He put me on oral antibiotics twice a day (minocycline) and aczone. After a week, my jaw and neck broke out worse than ever before, and this lasted 3 weeks before it calmed down a little. It has now been 4 weeks and my skin is slightly worse than it was before I started treatment. I know acne meds can cause skin to get worse before it gets better, but I haven't even seen a difference in the bumps on my forehead or blackheads, in fact I've broken out just a bit more this 4th week on my face. I'm calling the dermatologist next week, since it seems many other people see almost immediate results. I was really hoping aczone would work, but I will probably continue for another month and see what happens...maybe get on a stronger antibiotic too.Read More Read Less

I've been using Aczone for less than a month and my cystic acne has significantly reduced after years of suffering with acne. I've used countless OTC products, as well as numerous prescription products and none of them has been as effective as Aczone. I feel relieved and hopeful that my skin will continue to improve with Aczone. I literally avoided mirrors during bad breakouts and because of Aczone, my confidence is back!!! I definitely recommend Aczone. It's worth every penny to be able to look at myself in the mirror and see clear skin.Read More Read Less

I noticed a difference within days of using Aczone. It is the only topical medication that has ever helped with my moderate cystic acne.

I started suffering from acne later than usual (college and on), and tried many treatments but none has ever been as effective as Aczone. It's higher priced even with my insurance, but it's extremely effective. Not many side effects either - never dried out my skin or made me break out even more. Def recommend this to anyone suffering from adult acne.

I have had minor acne since I was a teenager and I am now 30 dealing with adult acne. I recently got off of birth control since being on it at age 18. Birth control was the only thing that really helped my acne. When I got off of birth control my face, back and chest was covered, especially around my period. My first response was to get back on birth control but I hate the way it made me feel. My doc first made me try some oral meds and some other topical meds...they helped a little. Then tried Aczone and everything has cleared up. I stopped the oral meds. I use every morning and night with my moisturizers. No side effects. This stuff is amazing! Read More Read Less

Great product! I use it once a day in the morning along with another topical for night and an oral medication. I've experienced no skin sensitivity and there have been no contraindications with my skincare products.

Although it costs me approximately $300 for one tube of Aczone, it's worth every penny. I began taking Acutane at 14 when people started mistaking my acne for the chickenpox. I am now 21 and have completed 3 1/2 courses of Acutane since then. Between each course of treatment I tried just about every topical and oral medication my dermatologist could think of, including antibiotics. Acutane seemed to be the only medication that treated the acne, but not without side effects, of course. My dry lips alone were almost as hideous as the acne! Not to mention the red bumps I would develop on my arms and hands as a result of dry skin, plus joint pain, head aches, and amenorrhea. I was forced to discontinue Acutane during my 4th course of treatment because my liver enzymes were too elevated. Within two months of stopping Acutane my skin was worse than ever. Thats when my dermatologist prescribed Aczone, and thank God she did! I began Aczone a year ago and haven't had more than two zits at once since then. It keeps my skin looking healthy and isn't overly drying. I recommend Aczone all of my friends struggling with acne! This stuff is amazing! Read More Read Less
