after many trials and errors, I believe I've found a winner. With minimal side effects this medication has significantly helped my Tri's and overall cholestrol levels. This med alone Does Not cause muscle aches. I've given up on all statin meds and feel much better. Been on Trilipix for about a year with favorable results. I hope this review is helpful.Good Luck

So far, I've been allergic to all statins, and Triplix. Trilipix side affect was a little different in that it caused a swelling/tight feeling in my neck muscles, therefore, I only attempted 1 45-mg cap for 3 days. We're trying diet, and plant sterols now with a promising result; total cholesterol dropped from 221 to 198.

So far I've been on the drug for about 2 months. I was on Tricor, my Triglycerides were at 210 at the time and my doctor wanted them to be down more. Also really had no known side effects with Tricor. He put me on Trilipix, now within a hour or 2 of taking it( always early morning) my face starts warming up, and it last most of the day. I feel like I'm over heating and need to be in AC, some muscle tireness. Also slight headaches almost everynight. Now the sad part, the first check of my Triglycerides again and they were up to 250, and I always eat right, watch everything i eat.Read More Read Less

After reading the posts; today was my last dose. I thought I was going crazy. I've been on it for 30 days. Extreme fatigue, my feet arms and face feel like they are on fire, heartburn, very irritable, fingernails are receding and hurting. Last dose today calling the dtr tommorow. I thought it was just me and I was felling so bad I decided to Google which led me here. Glad I did.

I started taking this drug for high triglyceride level 355.after being on this med for six months my trig. level went down to 236,but my other good numbers went bad.My dr.took me off med thinking it was causing my problem went back 3 months later my total numbers went back down, but my triglycerides went from 237 to 455. My dr put me back on trilipix, and added zocor to correct my other colesterol levels. Now my total colesterol is 169 and my triglycerides is down from 455 to 189. All in all my overall numbers are better than they have ever been. I have not had any side affects to this medicine.I have been on this med for 6 to 9 months now.Read More Read Less

The effective treatment in lowering my cholesterol and trigs has gone well. I've been on Trilipix 3 mos. I am now having tests done for gallbladder stones which may have been caused by this medication. So from one problem to another serious condition. I advise other patients who are considering taking this medication to weigh the risks and ask your doctor if he or she has any info on the percentages of patients who are experiencing the side effect.

I've been on the drug for 3 months now. No side effects noted. Easy to take, I took it in the morning before breakfast. It dropped my trigs almost 300 points, enough to effectively measure my ldl, which was back to normal levels, hdl was also improved. I also lost 17# and increased my exercise level from none to some. I feel very good about staying on this drug.

I was on Tricor & I asked my Doctor to change to Trilipix after my son suggested it to me. My son is a Pharmasutical Rep. I have now taken it for over a month with no side effects at all.

After using this for several months, I got the best cholesterol readings I have EVER HAD from my doctor. In addition to the Trilipix, I also had lost about 7 pounds.

Started 4 weeks ago/ very low HDL/ antara was not working well enough. Also take 4 Lovaza every day.(prescription Omega 3's) Capsules are very light but swallow with food and have no problem. Lovaza's are bigger and heavier. NOT ONE symptom as of this date. will check blood values in another 4 weeks and have a true answer as to if this drug helps with my numbers.

Had to stop taking after a itchy red rash with whelps appeared on my neck and arms. I went to my dermotolgist, who did a skin biopsy, results were Trilipix allergy. I stopped and all went away within a week.

While it was very effective for the high triglycerides (mine were over 500), I had another side effect not mentioned; constipation and headaches. I tried going without it for a week, and everything returned to normal, so it was the Trilipix. As soon as I started taking it again, I got "bogged up" again too. I can't spend the rest of my life on laxatives!
